Harshad Chopda and Fahmaan Khan in contention to play the male lead in Mukkabaaz
The search for the male lead in the upcoming show Mukkabaaz is getting increasingly interesting. If all goes as planned, fans of Harshad Chopda might see him headlining the daily soap. While the deal is yet to be finalised, the makers are also in talks with Fahmaan Khan for the same role.
Harshad was last seen as Rishabh Kapoor in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 4 opposite Shivangi Joshi, which wrapped up in September last year after a three-month run. Fahmaan, on the other hand, was last seen in Iss Ishq Ka Rabb Rakha and has previously collaborated with the makers of Mukkabaaz on Krishna Mohini in 2024.
A source associated with the project informs us, “While a deal with Harshad Chopda is likely to be locked, the makers are also in active discussions with Fahmaan Khan. Both actors bring a distinct appeal and strong screen presence, which makes the decision all the more challenging. The final call on the male lead is expected to be taken in the next couple of days. The channel and the creative team are keen on locking someone who not only fits the character graph but also connects strongly with the audience.”
He adds, “Eshaa Pathak and Munira Kudrati are also being considered for the female lead, and a decision on that front will be made soon. The story is quite compelling. It revolves around a man who once aspired to become a boxer but couldn’t fulfil his dream. He later discovers immense potential in the heroine and mentors her, pushing her to become a formidable force in the boxing world. The narrative blends ambition, resilience, and emotional depth, and the makers are confident it will strike a chord with viewers. The rest of the casting process is currently underway, and the shoot will commence once the ensemble is finalised.”
Harshad, who has been part of popular shows like Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil, Tere Liye, and Bepannah, gained immense popularity as Dr Abhimanyu in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Meanwhile, Fahmaan, best known for his role as Aryan Singh Rathore in Imlie, has also impressed audiences as Randeep in Mere Dad Ki Dulhan and Veer in Apna Time Bhi Aayega.
