Gatha Shiv Parivaar Ki – Ganesh Kartikey: Avinesh Rekhi shares how spending time with Nirnay Samadhiya reminds him of moments with his own son
Gatha Shiv Parivaar Ki – Ganesh Kartikey, the mythological saga of television beautifully shows the divine bonds and relationships through its story. The role of Lord Shiv, played by Avinesh Rekhi, has become very special and personal for him. Working with child actors Nirnay Samadhiya (Lord Ganesh) and Subhan Khan (Lord Kartikey reminded Avinesh of the time he spent with his own son. This made his experience on the show emotional, meaningful, and fulfilling.
The young, innocent curiosity and dare that Subhan and Nirnay burst with on set often take him back to those small wonders of parenting. “From playful off-screen banter to protective instinct and tender care throughout scenes, Avinesh finds himself slipping into his nurturing-daddy role quite effortlessly … much like he is in real life as well.
These instances have lent more believability to his character of Lord Shiva and further solidified the bond between him and his Godly sons on screen.
Speaking about the experience, Avinesh Rekhi shares, “Playing Lord Shiva is spiritually enriching, but what truly touches my heart is the time I spend with Subhan and Nirnay on set. Their innocence, honesty, and the way they look at the world reminds me so much of my own son. Between shots, we laugh, talk, and share simple moments, and in those instances, it no longer feels like I’m acting in a show; it feels like I’m simply being a father. While portraying Lord Shiva, these paternal emotions come very naturally, because love, patience, and protectiveness are feelings I live with every day with my son.”
