From Soundarya Sharma-Archana Gautam to MC Stan-Shiv Thakare: BFFs in Bigg Boss 16

Bigg Boss 16 finale is just a few days away and this season saw many thick friendships. While some lasted, some didn’t, their bond was much discussed by netizens. From Shalin Bhanot-Gautam Vig’s bromance to Sajid Khan-Abdu Rozik’s cute ‘lost in Hindi translation’ moments, fans loved to see their bond. Take a look at the BFFs in Bigg Boss 16 this season.

Priyanka Chahar Chaudhary and Tina Datta’s friendship has seen a lot of ups and downs. Priyanka bonded with Tina after her return to the BB16 house. While initially Priyanka was also friends with Shalin and she tried to patch up Tina and him, but later both the girls stood up against him. They had major fights with Shalin and supported each other through thick and thin. Tina even invited Priyanka to stay in her house post finale as the latter doesn’t have a house in Mumbai.

While Abdu Rozik was loved by everyone inside and outside the house, Sajid Khan shared a special bond with him. Bigg Boss had given the duty to Sajid to be Abdu’s translator in the house. In the initial days, on Abdu’s wish, Sajid had made a request to BB to give him two kgs dumbbells for workout purposes. Sajid had guided him throughout and had taken him under his wings. However, Sajid writing ‘I love tatti’ on Abdu’s back as a joke wasn’t liked by everyone. When both got evicted, Sajid and Abdu were seen together in the show hosting a special segment.

When Bigg Boss 16 began, Priyanka Chahar Chaudhary and Archana Gautam started as thick friends. Priyanka would often stand in support of Archana when other contestants would bully the latter. However, soon they had a fallout and they started fighting with each other. While initially they would share kitchen duties, during one Weekend Ka Vaar episode, they argued with each other and Archana ended up calling Priyanka, “You are gand (dirty). You are Gautam’s chamchi, sabki chamchi.” Priyanka then said, “She has messed with me for the first time, now I will show her.”

MC Stan, Shiv Thakare are currently a part of the Mandali, which was initially formed by Sajid Khan. The two had a major argument in the beginning, but later they became a part of the Mandali. With this, their bond got stronger. They also bonded over their Maharashtrian connection. More than friends, they share a brotherly bond. Twice when Stan was asked if he had to share or give his trophy to, who would he hand it over, he took Shiv’s name. Stan and Shiv have stood by each other like rock and share a solid friendship.

Soundarya Sharma, Archana Gautam, Gautam Vij and Ankit Gupta were friends initially. Soundarya and Archana would also share a bed and they would crack jokes with each other and laugh. They became thick friends after Gautam left. In one of the episodes, when many housemates were against Archana and they had thrown her clothes and destroyed belongings, Soundarya stood by her. Soundarya throughout has schooled and cajoled Archana just like a friend.

Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia was initially a part of the TV group gang – with Tina, Priyanka, Shalin and Gautam. When Gautam started like Soundarya, Nimrit felt like a third wheel. She felt left out and alone. During a task, Shiv and Nimrit had to give their ration for captaincy. That time, Nimrit and Shiv started spending some time together and the former gave her ration for the latter to become captain. While initially people and contestants inside the house thought it was Nimrit’s tactics to get inside the mandali, later she proved time and again by standing for Shiv and supporting him. They had shared a lot of emotional moments together in the house.

Abdu Rozik had a strong liking for Nimrit from the very beginning and there were a lot of discussions in the house. Nimrit had also cleared the air saying she has someone outside the house and sees Abdu as a friend. Nimrit took care of Abdu’s food preferences, styled him and took care of him like a good friend. She would even match his clothes and shoes as he would ask her for her guidance.

Shalin Bhanot and Gautam Vig started out as great friends but it didn’t last long. Shalin and Gautam’s workout moments and planning for the game together were some of the highlights about their friendship. Their bond saw a crack when Gautam saw Shalin hitting on Soundarya Sharma, who he had feelings for. Speaking about the crack in their friendship, Gautam told ETimes TV after getting evicted from the show, “I was genuinely friends with Shalin. But from his side I think it was fake. From the first week itself he knew I had a liking for Soundarya but he kept hitting on her. I won’t do that with a friend. He was poking me unnecessarily. There was a time when I moved on, forgetting everything, but he kept abusing me, saying nasty things about me which I can never forget. He knew I always considered him a friend and helped him whenever he was low and in need.”
