I was getting Rs 1.5 lakh or 2 lakh for a single episode of Comedy Circus

I have never done theatre like Bharti or Kapil I was a dancer. I had signed Comedy Circus for money. I was on cloud nine that I was getting Rs 1.5 lakh or 2 lakh for a single episode. It was a huge thing. They would give respect to me as I was Govinda’s nephew. I was a newbie and I thought I would shoot two episodes in a day and would make 3 lakh in just one day. So I was very happy. I was doing Bhojpuri movies at that time and I would get Rs 3 lakhs for one film as a hero for which I used to work for 30 days. I would work day and night. But here just in one day, I was earning Rs 3 lakhs. (Photos: Instagram)

Sabko lagta hai Govinda ka bhanja hai toh Mumbai mein bahut easy hoga

People often assume that coming from a film family makes everything easy. Being Govinda's nephew, many presume my path in Mumbai must have been effortless. While I won't deny that my uncle Govinda has been incredibly supportive and has helped us tremendously, the reality is far from easy. For me, Govinda is like a father figure, and I hold him dear to my heart. His support means the world to me. Having his blood running through my veins is an honour, considering he's one of the most talented superstars in the industry. (Photos: Instagram)

Lost my mother when I was just 2 years old

When I was just 2 years old, my mother passed away due to uterine cancer, shortly after giving birth to my sister Arti. My childhood was spent solely with my father, reminiscent of the movie "Kunwara Baap." I never got to experience the love of a mother; I only knew her through a photograph. However, I once saw a video of her singing, which remains my only live memory of her. My maternal grandmother was a renowned Thumri classical singer from the Benaras Gharana, and she was Govinda Ji's mother. Both my mother and grandmother used to sing on the Sahyadri channel. Great artists like Ghulam Ali Khan Sahab and Lacchu Maharaj visited our household. Despite being surrounded by such legends, my father and I faced our own struggles, especially after my mother's passing. We had to navigate life together, relying solely on each other for support. My mother's best friend adopted Arti when she was born

My aunt, who is Govinda Ji’s sister-in-law, Geeta aunty, adopted my sister Arti when she was just a little girl. Geeta aunty was a very close friend of my mother and embodied true friendship. They were so close that they would often dress alike and were practically like sisters. When my mother was battling cancer and knew she wouldn't survive, Geeta aunty promised to take care of Arti and raised her as her own. She took Arti to Lucknow with her and fulfilled her promise to be her mother. (Photos: Instagram)

Every three months I had a release but then the next 15 films flopped

I am proud of doing Bhojpuri films. The industry was on a peak and they were giving chances to new people. I did my first film Suhaag with Rinku Ghosh in which I was wheelchair bound. I don’t know how I did that film because I couldn’t understand what I was doing. I was confused. I would think I am a dancer and here I am in a wheelchair. The film was a super duper hit. After that, there was no stopping and I signed 25 films. I did not have time for anything else. Every three months I had a release and then the next 15 films flopped. I did 28 Bhojpuri films. But I never got any recognition. My mama helped me but the struggle was my own. I have done Tamil and Gujarati films. (Photos: Instagram)

I used to stay at Versova Road and I had no money to pay for rent

I believed in my talent but struggled to get opportunities in the Hindi industry, so I turned to regional films. Living on Versova Road, I often couldn't afford rent. My dad encouraged me to keep pushing, saying we could pay rent only if I kept trying. I took any film I could just to make money, gaining valuable experience along the way. (Photos: Instagram)

On his first film with Kashmera

One day, I received a call from Jackie Shroff Dada's secretary about a film called "Pappu Paas Hogaya." They informed me that Kashmera Shah would be my co-star. Excited, as I had seen her song "Jungle Patli Kamar" and knew of her. On set, the producer had arranged a five-star hotel for Jackie Shroff and Kashmera, while I stayed in a regular hotel. That's where I met Kashmera for the first time. Jackie Dada started teasing both Kashmera and me. Kashmera was the first person who saw me mimic Jackie Dada. Little did I know, I would end up doing many acts on him and earning lakhs. (Photos: Instagram)

Kashmera got me to do television

Sudesh ji was the one who pushed me to get married to Kashmera. I would like to say I make a lot of fun of her. She has been a pillar of strength for me. I came into television because of her. I was doing Bhojpuri films, she was the one who pushed me to do television. She told me once Ek din aisa aayega jab Tu Ek din mein Rs 25 lakh kamayega and it did happen. I told her that you showed confidence in me and it happened that I actually earned Rs 25 lakhs. (Photos: Instagram)

Kashmera is behind my success

Kashmera was the one who asked me to stop doing Bhojpuri films and start with television. She told me 'do Nach Baliye, let people recognise your talent because you are not showcasing your talent to the entire India.' I would like to accept that she is behind my success. I love Kashmera and Ek successful aadmi ke peeche sach mein Ek aurat ka haanth hota hai.. (Photos: Instagram)
