From Shweta Tiwari to Rakhi Sawant: Times when TV celebs accused their partners of domestic violence

Rakhi Sawant recently did a press conference where she opened up and recalled the domestic abuse against her by her estranged husband Adil Khan. Over the years, many TV celebs have come out and alleged domestic violence by their partners. The list includes some really popular names like Shweta Tiwari, Nisha Rawal, Rakhi Sawant and more. Shweta became a victim of domestic violence after her marriage with Raja Choudhary. The actress revealed that she was mentally and physically abused by former husband Raja. Shweta has a daughter with Raja named Palak Tiwari. Later, she married Abhinav Kohli, which also went kaput and she accused him of mental torture. She had written, "I can’t let my Child go Through this mental trauma.. I try my best to keep him calm and happy! But this Horrible Man makes sure my baby’s mental health goes back to Square one! If this is not Physical abuse then what is!!!!? It is the CCTV footage of my society (sic)."

Love School fame Ashima Chauhan, who got married to Pradhyuman Maloo after meeting him on a reality show, accused him of domestic violence. The reality show star filed an FIR against Pradhyumann of domestic violence. She even made some serious allegations against him of harassment and blackmail.

Dimpy Ganguly got married to Rahul Mahajan in 2010 in reality show Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega. However, their relationship didn’t last and the two called it quits in four months of their marriage. The actress accused Rahul of physical violence and filed a case against him. She is currently happily married with Dubai based businessman Rohit Roy and has three kids with him.

Dalljiet Kaur got married to Shalin Bhanot on December 9, 2009. They were together for several years and even won the dance reality show Nach Baliye 4. In 2016, Dalljiet filed an FIR against Shalin Bhanot and opened up about the domestic violence that she has faced. The two parted ways in 2016. Dalljiet is now married to businessman Nikhil Patel and is in Kenya.

Nisha Rawal and Karan Mehra were together for over a decade. However, their relationship hit rock bottom in 2021. In a shocking turn of event, Nisha filed an FIR against Karan Mehra on May 31, 2021. She accused him of domestic violence and revealed that Karan had pushed him against the wall after which she had hurt her head. Karan, who was arrested on 31st May, got out on bail on June 1. The Yeh Rishta actor accused Nisha of being abusive in the marriage as well.

Rashami Desai was married to her Uttaran co-star Nandish Sandhu. However, the two later filed for divorce mutually. In an interview, Rashami confirmed that Nandish was ‘abusive’ during their relationship. It was an incident on the sets of Nach Baliye that made Rashami realise that she no longer wants to be with Nandish. She was later in a relationship with Arhaan Khan but it also ended during her stint in Bigg Boss 13.

Rakhi Sawant got married to Adil Khan in a secret wedding last year. In a serious turn of events, Rakhi filed a domestic violence case against Adil Khan in February this year. Adil was later arrested and was in the Mysuru jail and got released on bail on July 21. Both Adil and Rakhi conducted separate press conferences recently and made some serious allegations against each other.
