Ankita recalled how she and Sushant fell in love with each other and opened up about it to her fellow contestants. The actress revealed that she and Sushant fell in love while working with each other on Pavitra Rishta. She mentioned how their bond on the sets of the show was and in no time they became really good friends. The co-stars then turned into lovers and dated for several years. However, Ankita is currently married to businessman Vicky Jain.

In a conversation with Munawar Faruqui, Ankita opened up about the reason behind her breakup with former boyfriend and late-actor Sushant Singh Rajput. She revealed their relationship was going pretty well and there was no concrete reason for breakup. She also mentioned feeling like everything changed overnight and Sushant decided to for forward with her career. Ankita said, “We used to have small fights but nothing big as such. It was like everything changed overnight between us. I also stopped seeing love for myself in his eyes.”

In one of the episodes, Ankita got emotional thinking about Sushant. She recalled how difficult it was for her to move on. Ankita also revealed that she tried her best to move on but she couldn't as she was not able to imagine herself dating anyone else. The actress doesn't remember what it was but all she knew was that it was very painful and shocking. She confirmed that it took her more than 2 years to move on.

She shared to Munawar that Sushant’s sudden demise left her in a deep state of shock. However, she faced trolling after she spoke about him. She mentioned how people had their opinion on their past relationships and many even blamed her for the situation.

She also spoke about how SSR would get affected by comments and trolls on Twitter. She said, "Sushant would dive deep into anything. Woh ghus jaata tha jo bhi usko chahiye hota tha. Thoda sa bhi upar neeche ho jaata tha, he would get affected. He would get affected by what people are talking about him on Twitter. He would think about people a lot. It was very normal because he was from a small town. Jagah jagah naam kamana is not easy."

One of the most shocking revelations made by her was how she met her current husband Vicky through her former boyfriend Sushant. She said that Vicky and Sushant were good friends and even she shared a close relationship with her. However, it was he who stood by her during the breakup phase. She revealed Vicky supported her mentally and emotionally during the time.

During the Bigg Boss 17 live feed, Ankita spoke about her participation in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa's season 4 with ex-bf Sushant Singh Rajput and he was one of the top contenders. However, she mentioned that the phase in their relationship was where she was quite possessive about Sushant. She told Isha and Abhishek, "Shampa, she was a very good dancer in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. One day while dancing she jumped in his arms and I was fuming. I was very possessive, it troubled me to see him dance with her. Now I have become calm and normal. But before I used to have a lot of fights in such small things.”

While having a conversation with Munawar, she mentioned that she didn’t attend SSR’s funeral. She further explained it saying that she was in a deep state of shock to believe it was real. The Pavitra Rishta actress said, “It was my first experience to lose somebody like that, it was very shocking for me. I didn’t even attend his funeral. I was like I can’t see him like that. Main jaa he nahi paayi. Mujhe laga main nahi dekh sakti Yeh… Vicky asked me to attend the funeral but I refused to go.”
