From Rannvijay Singha quitting Roadies after 18 years to Rhea Chakraborty, Gautam Gulati making their debut on the show: Changes on Roadies since Sonu Sood’s entry

Rannvijay Singha, who lifted the trophy of the first season of Roadies, had been an integral part of the show. However, he made an exit from the show after dedicating his 18 years. Sonu Sood replaced Rannvijay for the 18th season of the show. In the 19th season (Roadies - Karm Ya Kaand) Gautam Gulati and Rhea Chakraborty made a debut as a gang-leader of the show. Sonu Sood replaced Rannvijay in the 18th season of the reality show. Rannvijay is loved for his hosting in reality shows Roadies, Splitsvilla and more. However, due to work commitments and other reasons, Rannvijay decided to no longer host the show. In an interview with ETimes TV, he said, “I've been a part of Roadies since the first day. I am the only consistent person who has done Roadies for the last 18 vears. With me and the channel we have worked not only on Roadies but other shows as well approximately 14-15 shows with them. It's just that this is the one I started with, it kind of becomes synonymous. Due to prior commitments, Covid restrictions, date shifting, shooting in South Africa, now things are different at my end. It just so happened that I am not able to do it this season," he had said.

Rhea and Gautam Gulati made an entry in Roadies- Karm Ya Kaand. While, Gautam came a long way from getting rejected at the Roadies audition to finally hosting it, Rhea, on the other hand, was in the headlines for the Sushant Singh Rajput controversy. The two gang-leaders are however impressing the fans with their fun and bold personalities on the reality show.

Until the 18th season of the show, approximately 20-24 contestants were a part of the journey on the show. However, this year, 30 contestants were taken to the journey by the gang leaders and Sonu Sood. Ten roadies were selected for every gang. However, 6 contestants were removed in the first episode itself.

Over the decades, many gang leaders have changed on the show. Neha Dhupia, Raftaar, Nikhil Chinapa, Prince Narula, Varun Sood, Karan Kundrra and others have been a part of the show. However, there have always been four gangs until Roadies 18. This year there are only three gang leaders Rhea, Prince and Gautam.

Since there are only three gang-leaders this season, two of them would usually make alliance leaving one gang alone. Prince Narula also opened up about this during the eviction and his recent live. He revealed how Gautam and Rhea share a great bond and are up to make alliance together which would ultimately leave his team alone. He even expressed how he felt cornered throughout the show.

Even though every season a few roadies are evicted together. This year netizens saw mass evictions of 5-6 roadies altogether. Since more roadies were selected this year for the journey, evictions are taking place in big numbers as well. Mass eviction is one new thing that was added this year with Sonu Sood’s entry.
