From participating in a dance reality show as a kid to playing Imlie and then being a part of Bigg Boss 16, here's a look at Sumbul Touqeer Khan's interesting journey in showbiz

Sumbul Touqeer Khan is like any other 19-year-old girl... happy-go-lucky and wanting to live life to the fullest. Recently she was seen in Bigg Boss 16 and even if she didn't play the game that well, viewers liked her for her simplicity and straightforwardness. Here's a look at her journey in the telly industry...

She started her acting journey right from the time she was young. She joined Delhi's theatre circuit and performed in plays at a very young age. That's when she realised she was interested in acting. It was her father's dream that his daughters do something big in their lives and with that support, Sumbul set out to make a mark.

Sumbul's father Touqeer Hasan Khan, who was earlier a dance choreographer for reality shows, saw that his daughters loved dancing. So in 2016, he decided to bring Sumbul and her younger sister to Mumbai. In an earlier interview, Sumbul had said, "He saw that my sister and I had a great interest in dancing, so he gave it a thought and finally decided to pack up and shift to Mumbai."

Not many know that the actress was part of reality shows like Hindustan Ka Big Star and Dance India Dance Lil' Masters. Even though she didn't win these shows, her dancing skills were appreciated. We saw them during Bigg Boss 16 too.

She started her acting career with the show Jodha Akbar as a child artiste. Later, she worked in shows like Chandragupta Maurya, Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein, and Waaris. She featured in the movie Article 15 too.

After bagging the show Imlie in 2020, Sumbul's life changed. She became a household name and got a lot of love from the audience. The actress did a fine job on the show and later was offered Bigg Boss 16.

Sumbul became one of the youngest contestants on BB16 this year. Even though it was a bumpy ride for her, she became quite popular. Her fierce yet childlike qualities were liked and that's what kept her in the show for long. Even though she didn't win BB16, she learnt a lot from it.

Sharing about her experience on the reality show, Sumbul said sometime back, "I have come a long way and have had both good and bad times in the house of Bigg Boss. I’ve changed drastically in the last four months. I learnt so many things which have shaped my personality. I was naïve and not very expressive in the beginning. I found out that my emotional quotient is my strength. I’ve made beautiful friendships which will always have a special place in my heart."
