From Kratika Sengar to Rupali Ganguly; When celeb moms voiced their opinion about normalising breastfeeding in public

Recently, Kratika Sengar who embraced motherhood in May, took to social media and shared a picture of breastfeeding her newborn daughter, Devika. Along with the picture, she penned a note about normalising breastfeeding and earned a lot of appreciation. However, she is not the only one who spoke about breastfeeding in public, there are more too. Take a look:

Kratika Sengar

Kratika Sengar's empowering note about normalising breastfeeding has made headlines. She posted a picture of breastfeeding her newborn baby girl, Devika and penned a note. She wrote, "There is nothing better than time spent nourishing my baby. It is a deeply personal journey and not all days have been pleasant but I would not trade it for the world. It's empowering, it's normal and it's best for my little one. #normalisebreastfeeding #mealsonheels.” She welcomed a baby girl on May 12.

Jankee Parekh

Nakuul Mehta's wife Jankee Mehta gave birth to a baby boy, Sufi last year. Ever since his birth, Jankee was extremely vocal about her motherhood experiences and shared them on social media. She also spoke about her breastfeeding experience and shared that she wasn't able to produce enough milk for Sufi. She worked on her diet and eventually things became better for her. She wrote, "My initial 40 days postpartum were such a challenge. There was a lot of self doubt. Is my body producing enough milk? Why is he still crying? Is it because he is still hungry? His acid reflux didn’t help either. He would puke whatever milk he would have and then cry again. I tried and tried. Also had meltdowns every couple of days. The first thing I did was politely shut the voices around me. Next, I did everything in my capacity to increase my supply. Had litres and litres of water everyday, supplements, and most importantly positive affirmations to myself. I kept calm when I fed Sufi even if he was crying and constantly reminded myself that my body is producing enough milk and more for my baby. Today, he is not only breastfed exclusively but I have also managed to fill up my freezer with a sufficient stash of expressed milk. It took some time but together we made it happen.”

Shikha Singh

Kumkum Bhagya fame Shikha Singh not only spoke about breastfeeding in public but she also took a jibe at the people for trolling a mother for breastfeeding their children. She wrote, "We live in a society where a mother catches less hell for giving her toddler a coke than she does for giving her toddler Breastmilk. I am working to change that in my lifetime- Deanna Decker". She welcomed a baby girl, Alayna on June 16, 2020.

Rupali Ganguly

In an interview, Rupali recalled the time when she was not able to breastfeed her son, Rudransh. She shared that she wasn't lactating and felt that she failed as a mother. The Anupamaa actress said, "There is this thing that Mother’s milk is the best milk for the child and a lot of things about it… but I did not lactate. Hence, I was obsessed and was judging myself that I failed as a mother and I could not even do this basic thing for my child. It kind of mentally took a toll on me.”

Addite Shirwaikar

Television actor Mohit Malik's wife Addite Shirwaikar opened up about her breastfeeding journey on social media. She also addressed some questions asked by the users about breastfeeding. One such question was, 'What is better, breastfeeding or formula milk?' Aditi answered the question by opening about her journey and wrote, "As I was going through all your comments a lot of you were asking about Breastfeeding Vs Formula, what’s the right way? Honestly, I say choose your path and don’t go on what others tell you. Like I told you in my last diary, there’s nothing greater than a mother’s instinct. I felt that my child wasn’t fulfilling his needs with just breast milk and hence I’m a mother that’s chosen supplementing.” She was blessed with a baby boy, Ekbir last year.

Ankita Bhargava

Yeh Hai Mohabattein fame Karan Patel's wife Ankita Bhargava embraced motherhood in 2019. She penned a long note and shared how Breastfeeding is a love language between a mother and a child. She wrote, ""Breastfeeding.... DISCLAIMER - This post is only to create a positive attitude and an open conversation about breastfeeding and does not intend to discredit formula feeding at all. Please do not jump to unnecessary conclusions and derail my aim here! Breastfeeding Is not just to fill their tiny tummies and give them an immunity boost... It is a journey that U get to share with just this ONE HUMAN BEING on this entire planet! U and Mini U!" She has a daughter, Mehr.

Smriti Khanna

Meri Ashiqui Tumse Hi actress Smriti Khanna shared a post on social media and mentioned her struggles to breastfeed her daughter, Ananyka in the initial days. She said, "It's been two days since we came home, the first night was so bad, it was a nightmare. In fact, I decided to exclusively breastfeed the baby but due to COVID situation sometimes it becomes so hard. I was doing that till the time I had nurses around me. I had thought that for the next six months, it is going to be this way but I don't know now... there are so many issues, the baby keeps crying, I keep wondering if I am doing anything wrong, recently, it was like 2:30 AM and the baby won't stop crying. We did everything to make sure the baby stopped crying. At last, we got a Dabba with that formula, we have been watching YouTube videos. Everyone was running to make her stop crying and then finally she did." She embraced motherhood in 2020.
