Comedian Kiku Sharda came under fire for mimicking Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, Paresh Rawal’s iconic character from Hera Pheri. Producer Firoz Nadiadwala issued a Rs 25 crore legal notice to the show makers and OTT platform, claiming the act violated copyright and character rights. He demanded a public apology, removal of the skit from promos, and compensation within two days. Nadiadwala said, “Baburao is not just a character, but the soul of Hera Pheri. In an episode, Sunil Grover had asked actress Triptii Dimri, “What you did with Ranbir Kapoor? I hope that was only a shoot. It wasn’t real, right?” Triptii laughed and clarified that it was just for the shoot, but the comment sparked outrage among viewers. Netizens slammed the comedian for making the actress uncomfortable on screen. One user wrote, “She’s clearly uncomfortable with that remark and would love to just move on. Sunita Ahuja, Govinda’s wife, revealed in a podcast that she was offered the chance to replace Archana Puran Singh on the show. She said, “Kapil told me, ‘We should replace Archana with you.’ I replied, ‘If you remove her, at least do it properly!’” Although she admitted she might have enjoyed joining the show, Sunita decided against it due to past issues with co-stars Krushna Abhishek and Kashmera Shah. During a fun segment on the show, host Kapil Sharma revealed that Kiku Sharda was once jailed. Kapil said, “I have known Kiku bhai since the Comedy Circus days. He is a good person and always follows the script, but adds his own style and magic to his acts. He does things cutely, and I don’t think he has ever hurt anyone with his jokes. Comedian Sunil Pal recently criticized Sunil Grover, calling some of his acts cheap and repetitive. Sunil Pal said, “Sunil Grover bahut purana lag raha hai. Krushna Abhishek was caught in controversy when he spoke in broken Bengali on the show. While joking with Kajol, he said “Pachla cholo re,” meaning “walk with five people,” which is not a real Bengali phrase. Bengali poet Srijato Bandyopadhyay criticized him on social media, saying Krushna disrespected Tagore and crossed the line between humour and mockery.
