From Judges getting slammed for being biased to the leaked picture of this season's winner; 10 times MasterChef India and its judges were trolled brutally

The current season of MasterChef India was launched with a fresh theme, 'Festival of flavours of India'. The judges Garima Arora, Ranveer Brar and Vikas Khanna have been called out several times for either being biased, pretending to taste and now even having the season's winner out before the show's finale. Take a look at 10 times the show was in headlines and got heavily trolled:

Leaked picture of Nayanjyoti Sakia lifting the MasterChef Trophy

Recently, A photo of home cook Nayanjyoti wearing the 'MasterChef coat' and carrying the trophy was uploaded by a show's fan page. Also, the crew members could be spotted behind him as they wrapped the shoot for the finale. This sparked the news amongst the netizens that Nayanjyoti is the winner of the show. Most of them were overjoyed with the news and wrote, "I'm happy that they didn't make Aruna the winner. The way it is going I thought they will declare Aruna ji the winner even if she makes khichdi in the finale."

The show was heavily trolled for eliminating Priyanka Biswas

In the black apron challenge in Abu Dhabi, Priyanka Biswas was eliminated on the grounds of not bringing any innovation to the dish, despite giving her one of the toughest challenges. On the other hand, Aruna and Suvarna were given easier challenges that helped them cook meals sooner and add more variation to the cooking style as the utensil which was provided to them was quite user-friendly.

Netizens were quite upset with the elimination. A user wrote, "Politics Jayda cooking Kam......the most biased show ...re bhai ap de do Aruna ko prize kiyu bekar ye sab nautanki kar rahe ho....prawn and rice bohut simple dish and sabzi, chawal celebration of cooking"

Judges slammed for lauding a simple dish cooked by home cook Aruna

Aruna prepared Appam stew for the family special episode. It was served with small appams, stew foam, baked vegetables, and chammanthi thoran. Coconut was her main component. The judges lavished her with compliments. Despite the fact that the appams were little in size, Masterchef India judge Ranveer Brar applauded her for preparing bite-sized appams.

But nonetheless, netizens were unimpressed with her dish and debated it on Twitter. They consistently objected to the judges' obvious favouritism for Aruna, calling her 'Appam' dish 'basic looking' in comparison to others'.

Chef Garima Arora called out for pretending to taste a dish

In the black apron challenge of the Abu Dhabi week, netizens caught chef Garima Arora pretending to taste Priyanka's dish while she had nothing in the fork. A Twitterati wrote, "At least try to pretend well if you are pretending having nothing on the fork doesn't help"

Judges were criticized for being biased towards home cooks

Netizens have often accused the show's judges of being prejudiced. They brought up the case of Aruna and eliminated home cook Priya. Priya, while being a vegan, did her hardest as a cook to mix in diverse cuisines and never opted out of any task owing to food preferences, however, Aruna is frequently shown choosing out due to her preferences and still gets a chance to stay in the game. 'Never such partiality has transpired in past incarnations of Masterchef,' one fan said.

Netizens slam judges for favouring Aruna by allowing her to cook with Paneer instead of fish

Another case in point was Aruna Vijay, who was allowed to use Paneer instead of Fish since she was uncomfortable cooking a non-vegetarian dish. This has caused a commotion on the internet, as netizens are dissatisfied with the decision. One of them said on Twitter, "It's Masterchef India, where meat, eggs, and fish are consumed by more than 70% of the population. Why are you on the show if you have a problem with these culinary preferences? Start a Jain kitchen and just serve your community. Why take up room that could be used by those who wish to cook for the entire country?"

8/11

Judges are more of sous-chefs for home cooks rather than being judges

Netizens have remarked on how the judges have often assisted the home cooks with their dishes, even during the pressure test. "MasterChef also appears scripted nowadays, in how the judges keep guiding the candidates and then evaluating their effort, whereby they have merely helped them make the dish with their tactics," one viewer remarked.

9/11

Aruna Vijay criticized for setting a bad example by sacrificing her immunity pin over an egg

Instead of cooking with an egg in the first pressure test after obtaining the immunity pin, Aruna elected to use it to avoid elimination. The home cook's decision was highly criticised since it set a bad example for all cooks. As one viewer put it, "I occasionally watch MasterChef India for the cute lad I have a crush on, but he's allegedly really talented, gets safe early, and stands on top watching others prepare. As a result, they don't display him much. As a result, I wind up watching that prideful Jain tiptoe about egg instead."

10/11

MasterChef India got compared to Bigg Boss

When the home cooks conflicted with each other in one of the episodes during a pressure test, many compared the show to Bigg Boss as things became dramatic as they fought. "Such Bigg Boss crap in next week's trailer," one social media user said. "That chup raho chalao bas." "BB stuff," stated another tweet. No one can ever please Suvarna, not even her own team's captain or the opposing captain."

The show has become a brand endorsement tool

The current season of MasterChef India has made headlines not only for their home cooks but also for brand endorsements in the show. A viewer examined how many times the sponsoring brands were mentioned in one show and said, "I'm no expert, but hammering your brand name every 2 minutes during a MasterChef India programme is tedious and aggravating. This does not reflect well on your company. To be honest, I've grown to despise your brands."
