From Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa's contestant to grace the same show as a celebrity judge: A look at dancing sensation Nora Fatehi’s inspiring journey

Actor and dancer Nora Fatehi currently is ruling everyone's hearts with her dancing skills. The actress, who comes from Canada, has ruled the stage with her epic dance moves. Nora started her career with Bollywood film Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans and is now going to be the judge of Jhalak Dikhla Ja alongside Madhuri Dixit and Karan Johar.

Nora began her journey in the Indian industry with her first Bollywood film Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans. She later got recognition through the item number Dilbar from Satyameva Jayate. It became a massive hit. Nora has also been part of many famous films like Bhuj: the Pride of India, Batla House, and soon will be seen in Ek Villain Returns.

In 2015, Nora Fatehi entered as a contestant in Salman Khan’s famous television show Bigg Boss 9. Ever since then Saki Saki actress Nora has never looked back. She came into the limelight after she performed a few item numbers in Bollywood as well as South Indian films.

In the year 2016, Nora was seen in one of the famous television dance reality shows, Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. She was one of the most loved and talented contestants on the show.

Earlier Nora had told IANS about her struggling days at the beginning of her career in the entertainment industry. Nora, who came from Canada, spoke about how people mislead you when you are from outside the country. She stated “We go through a lot, and people don't even know. They take our money. It's happened to me. I remember my first agency, who got me here from Canada, was really aggressive. I didn't feel like I was guided the right way. So, when I wanted to part ways with them, they told me 'we are not going to give you (back) your money'. I lost 20 lakh at that time, which I had earned working in ad-campaigns.”

Nora had said in one of the interviews that people used to make fun of her accent. She said “I started learning Hindi but the auditions were very traumatic for me. I wasn't really mentally prepared and I made a fool of myself. People were really unforgiving. They wouldn't just be mean, they would laugh on my face as if I'm some sort of a circus. They would bully me. It was humiliating. I used to cry while travelling back to my home. There was this casting agent who once told me, 'We don't need you here. Go back'. I'll never forget that.”

Nora is a trained Canadian dancer. She is known for her amazing dance moves. These days Nora is famous for her belly dancing moves as she did a famous song Saki Saki which became a big hit too. Nora also did a dance film Street Dancer 3D.

Nora who was once a contestant on the dance reality shows Jhalak Dikhla Jaa will soon be a judge of the upcoming season 10 alongside Madhuri Dixit and Karan Johar. Nora is currently judging the reality show Dance Deewane Juniors with Neetu Kapoor and Marzi Pestonji.
