From getting bullied in school to wife Priya being the only breadwinner of the family during his struggling days: Aman Gupta makes candid revelations

Aman Gupta, who won many hearts with his time on Shark Tank India, appeared on a podcast with YouTuber Prakhar Gupta. The entrepreneur opened up about fatherhood, his struggling days, and much more. He even spoke about getting bullied during his school days, his wife Priya, and more. Here’s a look at his candid revelations:

2/10

Getting bullied in school

“Growing up, I was bullied a lot in school. I once met my school bully recently and I thanked him for doing that to me. He was shocked to hear that and asked if I was sure about him bullying me, as he didn’t remember. However, the bully made me a much stronger person than I am today. That incident made me human. I thanked him with all my heart.”

3/10

Secret behind success

“God loves me. I fear God a lot because I think if I wrong someone, God will punish me. I swear to God, till date, I’ve never done anyone wrong intentionally. Things must have happened unintentionally, but I’ve always been nice to everyone, and as a result, God has been nice to me. I’m not saying I’ve not worked hard — I have — and I know I’m a really smart guy, but I would want to thank God for giving me everything that I have today.”

4/10

How his wife helped him

“Till I was 40, meri wife ke paise se ghar chalta tha. I’m a very hardworking guy, but I’ve seen the ups and downs in life. I’ve burnt the midnight oil and everything to be where I am today. I don’t remember much of when my daughter was growing up because I was busy working.”

5/10

Net worth

“By God’s grace, everything is good and I have a good net worth. I might not reveal the numbers, but it’s good. However, I don’t work for money. I work to be happy. I do whatever makes me happy, and hence, I’m where I am.”

6/10

Preparation for CA

While talking about his CA preparation days, he said, “Everyone in my family is a CA, so of course there was that one thing. Moreover, now it’s a trend to be a dropout. However, back then, if you dropped out, you would be called a loser. I knew I wouldn’t be the best CA or finance guy. However, I feared the judgement that would come, so I decided to work and just get done with CA.”

7/10

Becoming a young CA

He shared, “At the age of 21, I became a CA. Everyone in my family has done it, so it was important to just finish it off. I knew if I told people that I dropped out because I wasn’t interested, nobody would understand, and hence, I just did it for the sake of it.”

8/10

On fatherhood

He even opened up about his fatherhood journey and missing out on important days with his daughter, and said, “I know I’ve missed out on many important events in my daughter’s life. If I look back now, I realise how many events I’ve missed. However, I’m very much okay with it. I don’t regret it at all. Had I not missed out on those important occasions, my life would have been much different.”

9/10

“I believe in imbalance”

“As you get rich, you realise that it was never about money. As entrepreneurs, we are obsessed with growth and challenges. We want to grow and do something for mankind. There was a time when I used to go on holidays a lot, but then I got bored of it and started missing work, so it’s always about growth. There was a time when I was extremely obsessed with work. I used to work 16 hours a day. However, one should know when to switch off from it. Moreover, I believe in imbalance.”

10/10

Biggest fear

“My biggest fear is being irrelevant. I feel like a little bit of paranoia is important in life, otherwise there’s no point. I believe that I’m very passionate about what I can do, but I’m very paranoid about what others can do to me.”
