From Erica Fernandes to Dimpy Ganguly; TV celebs who shifted base for personal and professional reasons

While Mumbai has given them name and fame, these celebs shifted to other cities in India and abroad, in search of tranquility, family life and looking forward to better work opportunities. Take a look at the celebrities, who have shifted from the city but keep coming back as and when required.

Erica Fernandes shocked all her fans and followers when she posted a video announcing that she has left India and shifted base to Dubai. She said in the video, “I had two homes. One was in India and one in Dubai. When I was working, I was in India. When I was not working, I was in Dubai. I think there’s always a time in everyone’s life where they want to explore something new… also want to find a comfort zone and want to build their own world. I don’t know if I will shift back or to another country but for now Dubai is my home.”

Aashka Goradia and her husband Brent Goble shifted to Goa in 2019. The couple has a yoga shaala in Goa, where they practice and teach. Both of them have their work opportunities there and keep travelling all over. Aashka also looks after her cosmetics brand.

Megha Gupta shifted to Goa just before the pandemic and has been living there and working on herself. Apart from acting, Megha is also a pranic healer and bach flower therapist. She posts several mental health, diet-related videos and also her photoshoot pictures.

After a shaky first marriage and divorce, actress Dimpy left the industry, got married to Dubai based businessman Rohit Roy and is happily settled there. The actress is a mom of 3 right now. About returning to work, the actress had shared with ETimes TV, “I am far from India. Had I been in India, I would have probably continued my career. My career is in India and my family is in Dubai. That’s a big challenge for me. I am willing to push myself but I don’t know how much I can push myself to get into a corporate role. Maybe once my children are older, I might think of starting something of my own… become a mompreneur or something of that sort. I might do something on social media.”

Shveta Salve had shifted to Goa with her husband in 2015. She planned to have her first baby in Goa. The couple is blissfully settled there and has their own fast food restaurant. She also has a retail store. “I travel to Mumbai, whenever there are projects and events. I don’t miss the industry that much. I made a conscious decision to move here,” Shveta had said while speaking to BT.

Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actor Sangram Singh quit the acting industry and settled in Norway, where most of his family members and his wife works. The actor is happily living his life there with his family. The actor keeps giving a glimpse of their beautiful life in Norway.

Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ Mihika Varma got married and left her acting career to settle with her husband Anand Kapai in the US. They got married in Delhi in 2016 and are now living in the US. She was last in Itna Karo Naa Mujhse Pyar in 2015.

Navya actress Somya Seth left the industry and settled in the US with her partner. However, her marriage had been troublesome which led to her divorce in 2019. She had a rough start while single parenting her son and after a long fight, she followed her passion to become a real estate agent. She is living in the US.

Rishika, known for her role on the TV show Ishqbaaz, made the decision to leave showbiz and start a new phase in her life a few years ago. She now resides in Dubai and works as a full-time real estate agent. In an interview with ETimes TV, Rishika confirmed that she is excited to embark on this new journey.
