Devoleena says, “We prefer to stay at home during Diwali. We do Laxmi Puja and Kali Puja and decorate our home with lights and diyas. I enjoy making a rangoli, decking up the house with fresh flowers and making some sweets. It will be fun to burst crackers like phuljhadi and anar in our building compound. Since we have a pet, we try to be at home as she is not comfortable with the sound of crackers.”

Sreejita De

Sreejita De recently got hitched to her longtime boyfriend Michael Blohm Pape, she exclusively shared with BT about her plans, "This is our first Diwali after marriage and Michael loves Indian festivals. He loves the festive spirit, the way people wear colourful dresses, distribute mithai and enjoy themselves. After Ganeshotsav, this is that time of the year when we have festivals one after the other, and then, finally, we celebrate Christmas in December. I don’t enjoy card parties, but I love spending time with family and close friends. I also enjoy going for Kali Puja because as a child, it was a ritual to visit Kali Puja pandals during Diwali in West Bengal. Michael and I plan to decorate the house with lights, and candles and also get something new for our home. I will also cook on the day and it will be a cozy family celebration with our two pet dogs. I will miss my parents who are back home in Kolkata.”
