From Comedy Circus to Bollywood
Kapil has been part of the laughter challenge shows since season 3 and has completed almost five years. Currently, he is now on the fourth leg of the Comedy Circus Ke Tansen.
So how did his brush with Bollywood happen? "It was during the airing of one of the Comedy Circus shows that Anees Bazmee took notice of me" says he. He further adds, "This was when Anees Bazmee contacted me while he was still filming Welcome, his eagerness was quite clear when he first contacted me to offer a break.
Things however didn't really move in that direction and the offer failed to take off.
However, some time later I was once again contacted by Mr Bazmee and this time around everything is going like clockwork. I have finally broken through into the world of silver screen. During the shoot I had my good fortune to act alongside Nana Patekar. He is the most accomplished actor I had the opportunity to work with." So will he quit TV and focus on movies? Kapil says, "I have no plans to quit TV as it had offered me a start and Comedy Circus has given me a great base to establish my credential as an artist." He quips, "I have always taken great joys in making people laugh, whether it's my audience, friends or family." Good luck to you Kapil!
