​Shah Rukh's debut with Fauji in 1989

Shah Rukh Khan began his career in the entertainment industry with the television serial Fauji. In the Indian Army-themed show, he played Lieutenant Abhimanyu Rai. The protagonist of the show was meant to be Vikram Rai. However, the camera caught Shah Rukh Khan's charisma, and the script was changed to highlight SRK's role.

​SRK went on to shine in Circus

This was also a popular TV show at that time, and King Khan benefited greatly from it. This show was based on a circus group and starred Shah Rukh Khan as Shekharan Rai. The evening also featured filmmakers Ashutosh Gowariker, Makarand Deshpande, and Pavan Malhotra. Circus starred Renuka Shahane opposite Shah Rukh Khan.

​Dil Dariya enhanced Shah Rukh's acting skills

Dil Dariya was Shah Rukh Khan's debut show, while Fauji premiered first and became known as his first show. Fans adored and admired his endearing character in the TV show. By the time the show was aired, SRK had become a household name for viewers.

​Doosra Keval added new layers to Shah Rukh's characters

Shah Rukh Khan portrays a country boy who goes to the city and never returns in this episode. His story is told to the audience by his mother, daughter, and the locals. Later, when one of his buddies visits the village, his family recognizes him as Keval. As a result, the name 'Doosra Keval' was coined.

​Kaun Banega Crorepati was his comeback to TV in 2007


Shah Rukh Khan had turned into a massive name in Bollywood by the 2000s. The actor then returned to TV as a host for Kaun Banega Crorepati which was previously hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. SRK had a brief stint with the show and was loved for his personality and skills. A fun fact, Shah Rukh had first hosted the New Year's Eve programme for DD, years before KBC.

​Shah Rukh brought a fresh show as a host Kya Aap Panchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?

TV show Kya Aap Panchvi Pass Se Tez Hain? was a parody of the American game show Are You Brighter than a Fifth Grader? The first episode, hosted by megastar Shah Rukh Khan, aired on April 25, 2008, and the last episode aired on July 27, 2008, with former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav as a special guest.
