From 500 people gate-crashing the wedding to Kyunki’s Ritu Chaudhry being one of the bridesmaids; Apurva Agnihotri and Shilpa Saklani share interesting details

Apurva Agnihotri and Shilpa Saklani tied the knot in 2004 and they shared interesting details from their Dehradun wedding. The couple, who has started family vlogging, have been giving glimpses from their daily lives and this time around, they took viewers through their wedding details but showing pictures from their wedding album.

Apurva Agnihotra and Shilpa Saklani got married on June 29, 2004. They got married in Dehradun and Shilpa said, “We wanted to honour the elders in the family as we wanted their presence at our wedding. From Apurva’s side, back then, his grandparents were no more in this world. But my grandmoms were present. They couldn’t have travelled. My dadi has clocked in 100 years. She is healthy and active.” Apurva’s family travelled from Kanpur to Dehradun.

Shilpa was working in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Thi back then and Apurva was seen in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi. The couple shared that many publications wanted to capture their wedding back then but they wanted it to be private.

Shilpa and Ritu Chaudhry were both a part of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Thi. Ritu played the role of Shobha. Shilpa and Ritu are best friends. Shilpa’s actress friends Bhavna Pani and Ritu were her constants back then and still now.

Shilpa did elaborate mehendi on her hands and legs and shared, “So much of patience you only have at your wedding. After 10-11 years of marriage I would do such elaborate mehendi during Karwa Chauth. Now, I don’t have that much of patience.”

Of all the wedding outfits, Shilpa shared, “This blue lehenga is my favourite and I cannot part with it.” Apurva added, “We will make our daughter Ishu wear this when she grows up.”

Shilpa said, “Dehradun is a small place but news about our wedding had spread. We had hardly 500 guests but more than 500 people gate crashed at our wedding. They took photos with us on the stage. We feel happy to be blessed by them.”

Shilpa said, “Panditji took 3 hours for the wedding rituals but we totally enjoyed it. Our wedding got over at 4am but both of us loved the wedding rituals.” During the bidaai, Shilpa shared that she didn’t cry and said, “I was told to drop fake tears but I was very excited to get married to Apurva and didn’t cry at all.”
