Farman Haider on working with Sonakshi Batra in Jagadhatri: Our teamwork is very strong, and that comfort clearly reflects on-screen
Jagadhatri, the popular show, has been dearly loved by all for its engrossing storyline and the chemistry between its two lead characters: Shivaay (acted by Farman Haider) and Jagadhatri (acted by Sonakshi Batra). It is doing quite well on the screen with its never-ending twist and turns along with high voltage drama. It is also doing well on the TRP ratings.
The current track revolves around a major turning point in the story. Shivaay and Jagadhatri got married. However, this marriage comes with a shocking twist, as it is a fake one. The duo entered the Deshmukh house to uncover the truth behind Jagadhatri’s mother’s death. Alongside this, they are also determined to prove that Mahesh Deshmukh is Shivaay’s real father. Maya is left completely stunned upon learning about Mahesh Deshmukh’s connection to Shivaay and now, she has given Jagadhatri-Shivaay a month to prove this. As Shivaay and Jagadhatri step into the Deshmukh household, the tension escalates further. Shivaay and Jagadhatri now have just one month to uncover the truth and to prove that Mahesh is Shivaay’s real father.
While the storyline intensifies on screen, the camaraderie off screen has been just as engaging. Speaking about the on-screen bond with co-star Sonakshi Batra, actor Farman Haider shared, “She is extremely sharp, disciplined, and fully present during Shivaay-Jagadhatri scenes, which makes performing scenes with her very easy. Our teamwork in such moments is very strong, and that comfort clearly reflects on screen. When your co-actor understands your rhythm so well, scenes automatically look very impactful. Off screen too, Sonakshi and I share a great bond. We rehearse, discuss scenes, and support each other, which really helps when the emotions get intense. I think that connection has translated beautifully into the ongoing marriage sequence. Marriage is a very significant milestone for Shivaay and Jagadhatri, especially because both have lost their parents at a very young age. Though they are entering a fake marriage for now, the emotional weight behind it is real, and it will be interesting for viewers to see how they navigate this new phase and manage their relationship under such circumstances.”
Sonakshi Batra spoke about her comfort and understanding with Farman, saying, “Working with Farman is extremely comfortable because he is very focused and disciplined. He brings a lot of intensity and clarity to every scene, which makes it easier for me to perform with confidence. Our coordination is very strong, and that naturally reflects on screen. Off screen too, we share a great understanding and trust, which helps us while shooting emotionally heavy sequences or the action scenes. The current marriage track is very special for Jagadhatri and Shivaay, and even though the marriage is a fake one for now, the emotions involved are very real, and I feel that Farman and I have managed to bring that sensitivity and complexity to the screen. He’s someone with whom I’ve struck a chord since the time we started working together. We are alike in a lot of ways, our value system, our work ethics are similar.”
