Farah Khan reveals how Rakhi Sawant sold her house to fund her debut music video 'Pardesiya'; the latter recalls Shah Rukh Khan praising the song

Rakhi Sawant never disappoints when it comes to her sharp wit and humor. Whether she's part of a show or engaging with her fans, she always keeps the entertainment going. Recently, Farah Khan visited her home in Dubai to film cooking vlogs, where they shared many funny moments. During their chat, the director-producer revealed that Rakhi had sold her house to fund her debut music video.

While cooking with Rakhi Sawant, Farah Khan reminisced about the actress's commitment to her career. She said, “Rakhi tujhe yaad hai Mein Hoon Na release hone ke pehle tune mujhe bola tha ma’am mein ek music video bana rahi hoon aur mein apna ghar bechkar wo music video ko finance karne wali hoon (Rakhi, do you remember? Before Main Hoon Na was released, you told me, ‘Ma’am, I’m making a music video and I’m going to sell my house to finance it).”

Farah Khan then shared how she had advised Rakhi against the decision, saying, “Aur meine bola tha, tu pagal hain kya, tu apne paise kyun laga rahi hain? (I told her, 'Are you crazy? Why are you putting your own money into this?) But just look at her conviction. Usne apna ghar bechkar… Pardesiya… Khud ka video, khud ko launch kiya and that music video went super duper... (She sold her house to make 'Pardesiya,' her own music video, and launched herself. That video became a huge hit)."


Rakhi Sawant, a contestant from Bigg Boss 14, then mentioned that even Shah Rukh Khan had praised her music video. She shared, “Shah Rukh ji ne bhi bola tha tera bohot achha gana aaya tha woh( Shah Rukh sir said that it was a really good song).” She had worked with the Bollywood superstar in Main Hoon Na. Farah Khan playfully added, “And after that, Rakhi Sawant became Rakhi Sawant.”

For those who may not know, Pardesiya was Rakhi Sawant's debut music video, released in 2004. The song quickly went viral and remains a popular party anthem even today.
