Exclusive -- Vineet Raina on tying the knot with Apeksha Raina: This love has been arranged by our families
Dil Diyaan Gallaan actor Vineet Raina tied the knot with Apeksha Raina, a nurse by profession, in their hometown, Jammu, on November 27. The wedding ceremony was performed according to Kashmiri rituals. The newlywed groom says, “I chose Jammu because I wanted every ritual to be performed in as authentic a manner as possible. I will host a reception for my industry friends in Mumbai next month.”
The couple will then jet off for their honeymoon. He adds, “I might opt for Australia for my honeymoon.”
Vineet and Apeksha’s love story blossomed during the pandemic. He shares, “We were introduced by a mutual friend in Jammu about eight months before the pandemic struck. Over time, our friendship evolved into a relationship, and we grew extremely fond of each other. I always desired a family, and I felt Apeksha was the right life partner for me. Fortunately, our families also got along from the get-go. It was a long-distance relationship as being a nurse, she was mostly in a bio-bubble. In fact, she was assigned to me when I tested positive for COVID-19.”
This marks the actor’s second marriage. Did it take some time for him to convince himself to take the plunge again? “Honestly, I don’t consider it a marriage because it didn’t last for even a year. The bond and love couldn’t develop. It was a decision made hastily and much against everyone’s wishes. I am grateful that I realised it wouldn’t work in a short time. I don’t talk about it because I don’t count it at all, and hence, it wasn’t difficult to move on from it. I don’t regret it because it was destined to happen,” he responds, adding, “After that, this is the first time I am deeply in love with someone, and that’s Apeksha. This relationship hasn’t been hasty and has grown stronger with time. It’s a match made in heaven. We share similar likes, dislikes, and temperaments.”
