Exclusive: Taarak Mehta fame Deepti Sadhwani on her Masai Mara trip; says ‘Nature, raw and real, changes you forever’
For global influencer Deepti Sadhwani, a journey to the Masai Mara was far more than ticking off a travel bucket list. Speaking exclusively to Times of India TV, Deepti describes the experience as “a complete shift in perspective,” one that humbled her and redefined her understanding of life, nature, and coexistence.
“From a dream to reality Masai Mara was everything and more. I’m so glad I finally took this trip,” she shares. “Being surrounded by giraffes, elephants, wildlife… right in the middle of the jungle, this feeling is beyond words.”
Immersed in untouched wilderness, Deepti found herself confronting a powerful truth: humans are merely visitors in a world ruled by nature. “Animals on the move, predators making their kill, herds walking to the river for water, this is nature, raw and real,” she says.
One moment left a deep impact on her witnessing a male lion kill a rival’s cubs. “It was brutal and heartbreaking, yet inevitable. That’s when ‘survival of the fittest’ stopped being a phrase and became reality,” she reflects, admitting how disconnected modern life has made humans from such primal truths.
Despite its harsh realities, Deepti was equally moved by the tenderness of the jungle — elephants moving in close-knit families, giraffes gliding effortlessly across plains, and lionesses nurturing their young. “Meeting the Big Five wasn’t just thrilling, it was emotional. You see social bonds, not just survival,” she explains.
Her stay at Pearl Mara further deepened the experience. “Zebras right outside the villa made it clear, we’re guests here. Luxury wasn’t indulgence, it was integration,” she says. Waking up at 4 a.m. for safaris and watching the jungle come alive, she recalls, was “absolutely surreal.”
Originally booked for four nights, Deepti extended her stay by two. “I didn’t feel like coming back,” she laughs. Praising the warm hospitality, massages, candle-lit dinners and bonfire nights, she insists the real magic lies elsewhere. “Respect wildlife. Don’t chase photos. Observe quietly. Let animals live undisturbed in their home.”
