Exclusive - Shilpa Shinde on moving back to city life for Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain 2.O'; says 'I don’t own any property here anymore and have been living out of a hotel'
Television actress Shilpa Shinde, who made her return as Angoori Bhabhi in Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain after a decade, recently opened up about how challenging it has been for her to get used to city life again after settling comfortably in Karjat. In an exclusive chat with Times of India TV, Shilpa revealed that despite being born and brought up in Mumbai, she has been having a tough time coping with the city’s hustle and bustle. She also shared she doesn't own any property in Mumbai and has been living on rent or out of hotel.
Talking about adjusting to the city life again, she said, "Yes, it was difficult. For me, the decision to rejoin came instantly. I said yes to the show without even thinking twice. When Asif ji called and said, “Let’s do it, everyone is missing you,” I agreed right away. There was no second thought. However, at that point, I realised I needed to manage a few things because I had almost stepped away from this world. It was a bit challenging, and honestly, it still is. I miss that phase a lot. Par aap do naav mein savaar nahi hosakte, it’s important to find the right balance. So for now, I’ve kept that part on hold, but I do plan to continue it in the future. As for what’s next, that’s something I’ll reveal later. I’m currently working on a concept there, but I’ll keep it a secret for now.:
She also spoke about how much she misses her life in Karjat, "Yes, I miss it a lot because it’s very peaceful there. Compared to that, the city life feels extremely noisy, there are people everywhere. After returning, I actually felt a strange sense of suffocation for a couple of days. I kept thinking how unusual it was, especially since I was born and brought up in Mumbai. But I had almost completely moved on from the city. I don’t own any property here anymore and have been living out of a hotel or rent. I was fully settled there (Karjat) and plan to be in the future as well, simply because of the calm it offers."
However, several challenges, Shilpa Shinde is enjoying her work and being on the sets with co-stars, "So adjusting back here made me wonder how I’d manage, with so many people around and constant noise on set. But at the same time, the work makes it enjoyable. The artists, the energy, and especially the script, it’s all fun in its own way."
Shilpa Shinde stepped back in the role of Angoori Bhabhi after Shubhangi Atre decided to quit the show after 10 years.
For the uninitiated, Shilpa owns a cosy farmhouse in Karjat which she has designed and built herself.
