Exclusive: Katha Ankahee’s Manish Raisinghan looks back at the year 2023; says ‘My most memorable moment is my transformation for one of my web show’
Actor Manish Raisinghan, who was previously seen in TV shows, 'Kyunkii Tum Hi Ho' and Katha Ankahee spoke to ETimes TV about how his year 2023 went by.
Talking about the year, he said, “This year has been the most payingback year of my entire life. In 2020 when I was home, I was working 16 hours a day. I learnt a lot of things, including writing. That has taken off this year seriously. In front of the camera, it’s been really satisfying. I am romancing on screen and doing things differently. Every second has been a learning experience this year.”
“My most memorable moment is my transformation for one of my web shows. It was like a complete makeover. It was my director’s vision and my people couldn’t recognise me. Fortunately, as actors, we are blessed to play different characters. It’s a different era altogether,” he spoke about his most memorable experience.
He further shared, “I have been an eternal learner all my life. Change is the only truth. This particular web show changed my perspective towards acting. I learnt a very new form. I bow down to my director. He brought out a very different human side of me. Pushkar Shrotri is that man, who brought a new side of me. It was like going to school every day.”
“I lost a lot of sleep this year again. I have been shooting day in and day out. It’s good in a way. I got to live a little more,” he added.
About things that he overcame as an actor, Manish said, “As an actor, I was constantly conscious of the fact that I am taking time. I was rushing too fast to finish. But with this project, I learnt to go slow. I learnt the pauses. My director told me to pause and hold it together and if that takes time, it’s ok. I overcame being conscious of taking time.”
Manish, who made his debut on television with Kaahin Kissi Roz in 2004, is one of the popular faces of Indian Television. He has been part of several hit TV shows like Sasural Simar Ka, Teen Bahuraniyaan, Ek Shringaar-Swabhiman amongst others. The actor married his co-star from Swabhiman, Sangeita Chauhan in an intimate wedding in 2020.
