Exclusive - Hina Khan and Rocky Jaiswal on Pati Patni Aur Panga, life after marriage, cancer battle and Rocky's wish to celebrate 100th anniversary together

Hina Khan and Rocky Jaiswal, one of the celebrity couples on Pati Patni Aur Panga, recently spoke about their journey on the show. In an exclusive chat with Times of India TV, Hina opened up about her fight with stage 3 breast cancer and the strong support she received from her longtime partner and now husband, Rocky Jaiswal. The couple shared that getting married didn’t really change their relationship, as they were already very close and understood each other well. For Hina, marriage was more about fulfilling what society expects, rather than changing anything between them. However, she did say that reading their wedding vows was a very emotional and special moment for her. (Photo: Instagram)

Hina Khan on Pati Patni Aur Panga

Hina: Honestly, when we offered this show, we were really not sure. We have been offered several reality shows in the past but we never did them as we were not very open about sharing our personal life on a show. If you have noticed we were never very active on Instagram when it comes to us as a couple. In fact, many times people felt that inka breakup toh nahi hogaya… are they even together? We would laugh it off. We are a couple who doesn't enjoy these things. Now, we have suddenly become active and started sharing reels from the time we have signed this show. (Photo: Instagram)

Hina: Rocky is a very private person

Hina: They makers also insisted us to share some reels and bring fun elements. He is a very private person and I also like to lead a private life when I’m not working. This was a very good opportunity for us because whenever we shoot for this show we forget about everything. We have gone through a lot of ups and downs in life but when we are on set we forget everything for those 12-14 hours. Till now we have shot thrice for Pati Patni Aur Panga and we had a great time. Rocky: Pati Patni Aur Panga is like a getaway for both of us

Rocky: Shooting for Pati Patni Aur Panga is like a getaway for both of us. We forget everything and just have lots of fun. We take home a lot of energy which stays with us for a while. And it is very important for us in this phase of our life. (Photo: Instagram)

Hina Khan: I do like having some personal space

Yes, it’s nice that the show is giving us a chance to spend more time together. But honestly, I do like having some personal space (laughs). He understands that about me — it’s been that way from the start. He can be around me all the time, but I reach a point where I’m like, "Okay, that’s enough, I need some space now." I go through phases like that. Of course, I love him, but I can’t love him the way he loves me, not even close. Still, we’re really enjoying being part of the show. It’s something new and exciting for both of us. (Photo: Instagram)

Hina: Whether it's starting a new treatment or beginning a new medication, Rocky is always by my side

Hina: Rocky truly does so much for me. As a partner, especially when you're facing the most difficult phase of your life, having someone who stands by you, literally 24/7, means everything. And I really mean it when I say 24/7. Whether it's starting a new treatment or beginning a new medication, he is always right there by my side. One of the hardest parts of this whole journey is dealing with anxiety, the fear of what the doctor might say next, the worry over test results. That anxiety slowly eats away at you from the inside. But having someone like him with me has been a blessing. With his support, I’ve never allowed myself to lose hope. (Photo: Instagram)

Hina: Rocky is always manifesting a future with me, dreaming of growing old together

Hina: There are moments when I feel anxious but don’t show it, and yet, he always knows. I try to distract myself by watching reels, and he’ll quietly sit across from me without saying anything. Then, without interrupting, he’ll send me a long message saying, “Baby, it’s okay. Tomorrow we have this coming up. Everything will be fine. Just take God’s name, and all will be well.” It's truly rare to find someone like him. Just look at his phone's lock screen, he is always manifesting a future like this with me, dreaming of growing old together and celebrating our 100th anniversary. (Photo: Instagram)

Rocky Jaiswal: A relationship should always be a partnership, a true union

Rocky: Whatever she’s saying, I don’t think it should be seen as something special or rare, this should be the norm for everyone. It’s not about a man doing something for a woman; it’s about being there for your partner, no matter what. A relationship should always be a partnership, a balance of give and take, a true union. I don’t feel like I’m doing anything extraordinary. In fact, if I wasn’t doing all this, I wouldn’t be at peace with myself. Right now, it’s not about me, it’s about her, and everything should revolve around her well-being. (Photo: Instagram)

Hina and Rocky staying stronger but losing it sometimes

Hina: He is not saying, underplaying it, kiya hai Rocky ne mere liye bahot. Saal do saal, he managed. He used to be strong but there are times when he also gets emotional. I have not seen a more positive person than him. No matter how many setbacks are there in life, he will say "iske baad accha hoga" and that has kept me going. Rocky adds, “As far as getting emotional is concerned, That is my emotional release, everyone has a threshold which sometimes gets breached. I wouldn’t say it is my go to mechanism, sometimes I also lose it.” (Photo: Instagram)

Hina and Rocky on life after marriage

Honestly, nothing really changed after we got married. For us, marriage was just a formality, more like putting a stamp on our relationship from one side. That’s all. It was more like a societal thing. Otherwise, everything between us is exactly the same as before. We actually completed one month of marriage on June 4th, and we didn’t even realise it. We totally forgot that July 4th marked our one-month anniversary. It was only the next day that it clicked, and even then, we were super chill about it. (Photo: Instagram)

Rocky and Hina: We did not prepare at all, the vows that we said were just straight from the heart

Rocky: People were very kind and we got an overwhelming response from everyone. I would like to thank everyone who sent their blessing because that is what we need at this point of time. Hina adds, “And we were looking pretty yaar.” Even the moment when we had to sign, it was also very formal. It was not a very big moment for us. For us reading the vows was a very emotional and important moment. Rocky adds, “We did not prepare at all, the vows that we said were just straight from the heart. We did not prepare at all.” (Photo: Instagram)
