Exclusive- Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin fame Sanam Johar, on beating the heat, says, 'Hydration is key to deal'
During the summertime, Mumbai usually experiences hot and humid weather. It lasts from April to July. Here's how Actor Sanam Johar enjoys staying cool in the heat.
The actor made his television fiction debut with the popular show Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin and is winning hearts as Ruturaj, the negative lead. Apart from his TV stint, he is also actively seen in music videos such as Kahi Tu Mose, Jaan Legi Mehbooba, Faraari, and Laal Ferrari, among others.
He said, "Hydration is key to dealing with the hot weather. I make sure to drink plenty of water, even at times when I don't feel thirsty. I go heavy on water and light on food, trying to avoid junk. I consume more butter, milk, curds, and fresh juices. Even fresh fruit is healthy when it's hot outside. Also, I added chia seeds to my diet during this time as it's beneficial to drink chia seeds in summer, as they help with hydration and digestion and can provide cooling effects due to their high fiber content and ability to absorb water. I make sure to keep my body cool."
While going out in the summer. He continued, "If I'm going out in the sun, I try to cover myself. I have stopped applying sunscreens as I'm getting to know they are not good for our skin, instead, I put some makeup on as that also makes a layer and protects the skin from the sun. If we follow few precautions, it's easy to beat the heat."
In a previous interview, he highlighted his fitness journey.
He added, "I have been into fitness since childhood. I used to learn Taekwondo, have been dancing since the age of 3, and used to play basketball in school and with friends. I have been in shape for the most amount of years of my existence. I believe my fashion statement is to be fit because if one has a fit/healthy body, everything looks good. Fitness is my lifestyle so it comes very naturally to me."
"I recently joined a gym, like 4 months ago. All my life, I have been working out at home. One day, I went to the gym with my friend Jason (Tham), and I just loved the environment and the equipment. I decided to join one myself and the results are amazing," he concluded.
On the professional front, Sanam earlier appeared in Dance Reality TV shows like Nach Baliye and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. He is recognised as a popular choreographer in the Hindi TV industry.
