Exclusive - From initially being reluctant to do the show to spilling secrets about their married life; Swara Bhasker and Fahad Ahmed talk about Pati Patni Aur Panga, their bond and more

Actor Swara Bhasker and politician Fahad Ahmed have opened up about their married life and the experience of working together on their latest project Pati Patni Aur Panga. Talking about how the show came their way, Swara shared, "The makers came to us with the idea because they wanted real couples to bring more honesty and authenticity to the show. When I heard the concept, I felt it was interesting and also very close to reality. Fahad and I thought it would be a nice way to share our journey with people, and also show that marriage is not just about love, but also about the little challenges that make it special."

While Swara was instantly excited, Fahad admits he was initially hesitant. "To be very honest, I was a little hesitant at first because I am not from the entertainment world like Swara. But once I understood the thought behind the show, I realized it’s actually about us being ourselves. Swara was instantly excited, and her confidence gave me the push to say yes." (Photo: Instagram)

The couple reveals that the show's concept resonated deeply with them. Swara explained, "Absolutely. Every couple goes through moments where they have to balance different perspectives. For us, it was easy to connect because we come from different worlds: cinema and politics. But at the end of the day, we know it’s about meeting halfway and supporting each other. Fahad added that the storyline mirrors their own relationship in many ways. "Quite a lot. The fun banters, the small disagreements, and the way we laugh it off later—all of it happens in real life too. I think every married couple watching will find a piece of their own story in it." Working together also brought new discoveries in their relationship. Swara revealed, "We have always known each other as partners at home, but here I saw Fahad in a new light. I never realised there was a hidden reality star in him. His ease on camera was a lovely surprise. I knew his candid charm but his appealing screen presence was a discovery" (Photo: Instagram)

Further, Fahad added, "And I saw how effortlessly Swara can switch between being natural and being in front of the camera. It gave me a deeper appreciation of her work. And when I saw her entourage I realised why she has a propensity to have so much staff around her at home too (laughs)." (Photo: Instagram)

Recalling memorable moments from the shoot, Fahad said, "The spontaneous moments were the most memorable for me when something happened off-script and we just reacted naturally. That felt very real." Swara fondly added, "For me, it was when we teased each other on camera. That playful side of our relationship came out beautifully, and those moments are very close to my heart." (Photo: Instagram)

When asked about whether the show reflects modern marriages, Swara responded, "Definitely. Marriage today is less about rigid roles and more about being partners in every way. For Fahad, being a part of such a project was very important. "A lot of times, people only show the picture-perfect side of marriage, which is not true. By doing this show, we wanted to normalize the idea that it’s okay to have disagreements and ups and downs. It doesn't mean the relationship is weak." Swara added, "Exactly. The couple also discovered new sides of each other while filming. Swara said, "Yes, I discovered that Fahad has a great sense of humour even in front of the camera. I always knew he was funny at home, but seeing him open up this way was wonderful." Fahad, in turn, shared, "And I discovered that Swara is even more spontaneous and witty than I thought. As for the message the show hopes to give to audiences, Swara concluded, "The biggest message is that marriage is teamwork. It’s about patience, respect, and supporting each other through everything." Fahad added, "And that little pangas and small fights are natural; they don’t weaken a relationship, they actually add flavor to it. The key is to laugh, move forward, and keep the love strong."
