Exclusive - Bigg Boss OTT 3's Ranvir Shorey calls Sana Makbul an undeserving winner; says 'Bigg Boss ki daya drishti unpar padi, aur woh winner bani'
Bigg Boss OTT Season 3 second runner-up, Ranvir Shorey, who frequently clashed with Sana Makbul, considers her an undeserving winner. In an exclusive interview with ETimes TV, the Bollywood actor claimed that she won the show due to the kindness of the show's makers. He shared that he was neither surprised by his eviction nor by Sana becoming the winner of the show.
Talking about the same, "The nature of the show is such that something unpredictable, unexpected takes place. Neither am I surprised at my eviction—I was kind of expecting it—nor am I surprised at Sana Makbul’s win. The reason behind it is that I felt she is not the most deserving contestant to win the show."
Explaining his point at length, the actor shared, "When I said that she is an undeserving contestant, I meant that if she wins the show, it will be because of the kindness of the channel towards her. When I won the head of the house position, I consciously put in a lot of effort in the game because just before it, Deepak bhai was eliminated, and I gained clarity about the game. I wanted to dismantle the mafia that Sana Makbul and her group had formed. Sana was appointed as the 'baharwala,' and she made a mistake by revealing it to Vishal. Even after showing her the clip, she refused to accept it. Despite this, they sacked her from the position only to appoint her as 'baharwala' again."
He further added, "I don't find her deserving from any point of view. Even after breaking the rules, she was still made the 'baharwala' and given immunity, even though logic says she should be punished for her mistake. At that point, if I had been the head of the house and the 'baharwala,' I would have cleared out the entire mafia. It couldn't happen because Bigg Boss ki Daya Drishti (kindness) was on Sana Makbul once again. She was made the 'baharwala' again and got immunity from eliminations. Because of all these perks, she could become a finalist and eventually win the show. Bigg Boss ki Daya Drishti was on her, and that's why she became the winner."
When asked about his reason for doing the show, despite knowing that the OTT version requires a massive social media presence, which he lacks, Ranvir said, "I did not take up this show to win it. I wanted to experience the show. They have been offering me Bigg Boss for the past 10 years, but I couldn’t accept it due to various reasons. This year, my calendar was open, as I mentioned earlier, which was misinterpreted by many as a move for career revival. Yes, it’s true that I did not have offers in my core area of work, which is acting. But I’ve done a lot of reality shows in my career, like Khatron Ke Khiladi, Paisa Bharti Padega, and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa."
"This time, I had the opportunity to do this show because my son was also traveling abroad. I accepted the offer to experience the show because I know reality shows offer a great experience more than anything else. My initial plan was never to win; it was to reach the finale," he concluded. While Sana Makbul won the show, Ranvir was the first runner up.
