Exclusive - Aditi Sharma and Abhineet's divorce: From reacting to alimony claims to revealing threats from estranged husband involving the underworld, Apollena actress opens up about her marital disputes

TV actress Aditi Sharma recently grabbed headlines after reports of her divorce from husband Abhineet Kaushik, just four months into their marriage, went viral. In an interview, Abhineet accused her of cheating and domestic abuse. Now, days later, the Apollena actress has finally spoken out, stating, "Domestic abuse was not from my side." In an exclusive interview with Times of India TV, she also addressed the alimony accusations and revealed that she has been receiving threats from her husband involving the underworld. I have never called my marriage with Abhineet a mock shoot, or mock marriage. I’ve always mentioned that I lead a very private life and I like to keep things private because I believe in nazar. Aur shayad saamne waale ne issue cheez ka faida uthaya hai. I have done this for my career also, I never talk about my big projects before hand. I knew about my Khatron participation but I kept it under wraps. My marriage or relationship was never a secret. All my costars and celebrity friend’s knew about it. Even my producer friends, family, relatives everybody knew about it. The wedding happened in the presence of our family members. My relatives even sent flowers, gifts. My family was very supportive because for them my happiness mattered the most. They were initially not okay with the marriage as they could see a lot of things. They had their own thoughts and reason but for my happiness because I told them I want to be with him they eventually agreed. I had told them very sternly, “Mujhe karni hai toh issi se karni hai, toh aap log dekh lo.” We wanted to get married and that’s why we got into a relationship. It was never a casual relationship as I don’t believe in casual dating. His parents are very old and how it happens in families that we are aging, you guys are also getting old, so why don't you get married. When I got Apollena I didn't want to lose that opportunity and I was playing a 18-year-old girl. I had lost a lot of weight and working really hard on the character. On the other hand, I was told from my in-laws side that he’s getting many marriage proposals, from doctors and he also mentioned many times that I’m in pool of girls. I didn’t want to lose him and that’s why we got married. We mutually decided to not publicly disclose the marriage. Just think agar mera akele ka decision hota toh why did he wait for four and a half months. Kisi ne haanth baandh ke rakhe the kya? He is not a kid. He could have posted the picture. There were a lot of issues when we both felt let’s breakup, like every relationship we had our share of ups and downs. Still I thought after marriage things will get better. It’s natural to think like that if you love someone. It is not the first time, he is linking my name with someone. Even while we were dating he would call me names and tell me bad things. Bahut saari aisi baatein boli gayi hain joh main publicly bata bhi nahi sakti ke kya kya gandi cheezein mujhe boli gayi hain. Sadly I was so much in love that even after knowing all of these I was with him because when you love someone you tend to ignore all their mistakes. No matter how much you get affected deep down, you ignore. In fact, if I would pickup someone’s calls or reply to anyone message on Instagram, he would create a big issue. I was not allowed to put a heart emoticon on my male Friends posts. I was not allowed to like my co-actor’s pictures especially if they were shirtless. I always felt I love him and I’ll mange things. My lawyers have asked me to refrained me from commenting on these things. I don’t wish to wash my dirty linen in public. I’m not that person and my family has not given me these values to go and defame someone. Anyone can play blame game and I don’t want to play dirty or stoop to that level. I will reframe from commenting on the question but I would definitely like to add that I have not done anything of that sort, whatever has happened we will prove that in court. Whatever I have gone through and suffered I will prove that in court. I don’t have to justify in front of the media. I took my time to speak on the matter because I needed my time to settle and realise that a person whom I loved so much, and who would always threat me on small, petty issues that u will go in the media, he has already done that. We are in the times of social media where we have seen many cases where even men have been wrongly treated. It’s not about men or women being wrong and it’s very easy to target someone on social media that ladkiyaan aise karti hai. It’s very easy to make perception about anyone. As far as alimony is concerned, I have not asked him anything of that sort. We recently completed four months of marriage and two months ago, I asked for divorce. There was no talks about alimony. In fact, alimony ki baat unki taraf se hui hai. I have proofs and I show that in the court. I’ve asked for money which is mine and which is in his account. We had not even disclosed the amount, she just told him we will let you the exact amount. Like they have taken my Streedhan (jewellery) we have asked that reimbursement. But post that he asked a huge amount from me as alimony and I don’t know if my lawyers will allow me to disclose it, but it is shocking. It is a huge amount. Agar mujhe alimony maangna hota toh main itna chota amount kyu maangti. I am a self-made woman who built her career on her own with her parent’s support. I did not have any godfather in Mumbai and you started working at a very young age. I’ve been earning and supporting my family for years now and even supported in my brother’s education. I have supported him financially at a lot of places as well, but I consider it as my duty of being a family. I don't want anyone's money. Bhagwane mujhe itna kaabil banaya hai ke main apne balbute par kama sakti hoon. He has demanded a huge amount from me that clearly proves why I realised that this is not a healthy relationship and I why I decided to separate.
