Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega: Rajasthani folk artistes on the small screen

Albela, a musical troupe of Manganiyaar artistes from Barmer, recently performed on the reality show Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, and mesmerized the audience. The folk artistes, known for their traditional music, performed with instruments like the morchang and the khartaal. About the experience, Pepa Khan said, “We have been performing all across the world, but to present our folk music in front of the Indian audience has always been very special. Because of the positive response to our performance, we have been again to perform on the show again. We will fly back to Mumbai next week in all probability.” Apart from their earthy music, the artistes’ traditional dhoti-kurta and leheriya pagris also impressed the judges and the audience. Lots of people met us after the show got over and asked us about our art and instruments.
