Gauahar Khan and Zaid Darbar, who got married on December 25, shared their love story on their wedding invites. The two met at a grocery store, after which Zaid messaged her on Instagram, saying she’s the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. They also went on some ‘quarantine drives’. “What started as a lockdown ritual, turned into love at first sight. Quarantine drives and parking garages is what date nights looked like,” said Gauahar in a video she shared on social media. “No matter the distance, we found each other closer together,” she added.

Karanveer Mehra married Nidhi V Seth last month in Delhi. He said that before the lockdown, he never thought they’d get married within a year. “Nidhi and I met in 2018 at a gym, after which we met for work. After many professional meetings, we went for an ice cream date in 2018, and that’s how our relationship started. But till the beginning of 2020, we weren’t sure where our relationship was going, and decided to take a break. We were on a break when the lockdown started. As the lockdown was extended, we came closer to each other. We ended up moving in together, and then decided to get married,” he told us.

Miss World Asia 2014 Koyal Rana found love during the lockdown. She said that the lockdown gave her a wedding she never thought she could have – small and intimate. “I wasn’t really looking forward to getting married. I was talking to my friend during the lockdown when I told her my parents are looking at someone, and she asked for details. I sent her the details of the guy and she said, ‘Koyal you have to meet this boy’. He ticked all the right boxes. We didn’t have photos so she went to social media to find him. My friend liked him so much that she asked me to go and meet him. And that was how I met my partner in the lockdown.” she said.

Prachi Tehlan said that it was destiny that brought her and husband Rohit Saroha together. The two knew each other for a long time but eventually lost touch. They reconnected amid the pandemic. Prachi told us, “We briefly dated in 2013. I approached Rohit amid the pandemic after a gap of six years in June and we both decided to get married in August. The year (2020) gave me my life partner and it turned out to be one of the best years of my life.”
