Bigg Boss 19: Amaal Malik reveals how his parents reacted when he publicly opened up about his depression; says, “They thought I shouldn’t have done it”

The grand premiere of Bigg Boss 19 turned special as popular music composer and singer Amaal Malik entered the house as a contestant. Marking his first-ever stint on the controversial reality show, Amaal shared an emotional moment with host Salman Khan while looking back at his journey.




Speaking on stage, Amaal said, “You helped me when I started my career in 2015, and now, after 10 years, I’m back again with you on Bigg Boss. So, I think you’re really lucky for me.” Salman was all praise for the musician, adding, “This guy is so talented, with his work, singing, and everything else.”



Opening up about his life, Amaal revealed, “You’ve always taught me that I have to fight my own battles and create my own identity. At this age, I’ve become sober, but I wasn’t like this before. I feel that through this show, fans will get to know the real Amaal Malik, not just the one who has made headlines because of his words.”


The singer-composer also recalled the time he spoke publicly about his mental health struggles. “When I shared a post about feeling depressed, many people, including my parents, thought I shouldn’t have done it,” he admitted.

On a lighter note, Amaal revealed some personal quirks, saying, “I snore a lot since I have a medical condition. I’m single at the moment — I thought I’d be with someone by now, but that didn’t happen.”

With his entry, Amaal Malik has already set the tone for an emotional yet entertaining journey inside the Bigg Boss 19 house.
