Bigg Boss 16: From breaking things to asking Sumbul Touqeer to stay away; 8 times when Shalin Bhanot lost his cool

This year’s Bigg Boss 16 has been super dramatic and people love watching the fights that are happening inside the house. Even though there have been multiple fights amongst the contestants but most interesting fights that took place were with Shalin Bhanot. There have been multiple times when Shalin lost his cool and became violent on the show. Shalin even answered Salman Khan while he was trying to explain something. Lately, Shalin also fought with Tina Datta after Salman had slammed them for faking a love angle on the show.

Let’s take a look at some of the major fights that involved Shalin:

In one of the latest episodes, Priyanka Chahar and Shalin were at loggerheads when recently became good friends and were fighting with each other since the ration task. Priyanka had accused Shalin of keeping a good image for the camera’s sake but Shalin lost it and gave it back to her. He also accused her of fighting with him for footage. Priyanka says “Stop confusing us, you are only thinking about yourself and nobody else." Shalin loses his cool and throws things in front of Tina and Priyanka. Don't you dare do all these violent acts with me. Do all this in front of Tina Datta only she can handle all this." It did not end there, a few days later, Shalin taunted Priyanka and called her ‘irritating’. Priyanka. He further talks about her with Sreejita De, and says “Yehi toh Salman sir bolte hain that public aisi ladki ko dekhegi...toh tumko kaam thodi na milega..itni irritating ho tum (Salman sir is right that if public sees such a girl she won't get work...she is so irritating).”

In one of the recent episodes, Shalin calls Sumbul a weak player in front of Tina Datta which makes Sumbul lose her mind. Shalin says “Sumbul is one of the weak contestants in the house”. Sumbul hears him and says “Who the hell are you to decide that I am weak, seriously who are you to say that? Will you tell the person standing in front of you that you are weak? Bigg Boss has not given anyone that right, keep that in mind”.

The fight starts with Archana Gautam and Vikkas Manaktala and later Shalin tries to stop them from fighting but loses his cool and starts breaking things inside the house. Shalin was seen picking up garden chairs and smashing them on the ground. He also took a chair and threw it in the air. He further asked Bigg Boss to open the door and let him in otherwise he would lose his mind. Archana targets Shalin’s ex-wife Dalljiet Kaur and says “Mujhe laga teri biwi do kaudi ki”. He frustratingly asks Bigg Boss to call him into the confession room as he doesn’t want to be in the show anymore. Sajid consoles him and Shalin says “Itni bezzati nahi jhel sakta yaar, gande log rehte hain yahan par. Open this fu***** door, I want to step out."

Shalin, who has a record of fighting with the contestants, was seen at loggerheads with rapper MC Stan. During the nomination week, MC Stan was asked to nominate a contestant, he nominated Tina Datta which led to a shock to Shalin and he became offensive about it. MC Stan in the heat of the moment said “ek lafa marunga tujhe”, which provoked Shalin even more and the two of them almost got into a physical fight.

In one of the recent episodes, viewers saw Nimrit Kaur and Shalin Bhanot at war when Shalin indirectly commented about her mental health during the captaincy task. In the task, Nimrit asks Shalin what is his issue with the game and he comments “I have mental issues”. Nimrit figures that it's directed at her and she gets aggressive with him. This leaves Shalin stunned and he ignites in anger and walks away from the task.

Shalin and Sumbul who were best friends at the beginning of the show eventually turned enemies after Sumbul’s father called out on Shalin. In one of the Weekend Ka Vaar episodes with Salman Khan, both Tina and Shalin got to listen to Sumbul’s father’s telephonic call where her dad said “Beta aap Tina aur Shalin ko unki aukat dikhani hain National Television pe." After listening to the audio played by Salman, Shalin gets furious and shouts at Sumbul, he says “Why the f**k you are talking to us? Dur raho! Dimag kharab hai kya?' (Stay away, are you out of your mind)”.

It was the second week of Bigg Boss 16, and contestant Sajid Khan and Shalin Bhanot had already been into an argument when Shalin commented about Sajid’s commentary. Sajid further asked him why he nominate when he had called him and said that they are brothers as Farah Khan is like a sister to him. Sajid further said, “Bigg Boss ke baad iss ghar ki dusri awaaz Shalin hai, yahan aane ke pehle tum mujhe keh raha the ke Farah Khan ka tu dusra bhai hai, toh nominate mujhe kyu kiya” (after Bigg Boss, it is Shalin who is the voice of the house. Before this show, you told me that you are Farah's second brother, then why did you nominate me)? Shalin got furious and gave a thumbs down to Sajid’s commentary. Sajid further added “Kal bhi tune mujhe nominate kiya tha and aaj bhi tune mujhe thumbs down diya, tu kaun sa bhai hai (Yesterday, too, you nominated me and now, you are giving me a thumbs down. What kind of brother are you?)” Shalin responded saying “Aap mujhe ungli kar rahe ho (you are poking me), do you even want to listen to me. Aap yaha pe ho kyun (why are you here)? Aaye kyun ho yaha pe (Why have you joined this show)?”

During the Karan Johar segment, the director introduced a new segment where contestants had to pour water on those who they think need mind clearance. Shiv Thakare called out Shalin and said that he is unpredictable. However, things escalated and the two began threatening one another. Shalin wasn't having it and decided to speak to him about it. He afterwards inquires as to what he means by the statement. Shiv stated that he does not comprehend his own personality and believes he has a dual nature. Shalin answered by saying it was time to expose his true colours.
