Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain: Aasif Sheikh recreates Mithun Chakraborty’s classic look from Disco Dancer
Dancing to the tunes of two of the most iconic tracks from the film Disco Dancer, witty Vibhuti Narayan Mishra played by Aasif Sheikh and the stylish Anita Bhabhi essayed by Saumya Tandon are all set to captivate the viewer’s attention with some of their best dance moves in the upcoming episode of Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain.
Recreating the moves, grace, and energy of the veteran film actor and dancer, Mithun Chakraborty, Aasif Sheikh will be seen dancing to the popular song ‘I am a Disco Dancer!’ along with the chirpy Bhabhis.
Attempting to bring out the true style of this Bollywood hero, Aasif Sheikh went all out to design his look and left no stone unturned in bringing out the true essence of his character. From deciding his shimmery look to seeking inspiration from the dancing legend himself for his dance moves, the actor is all set to bring alive the energetic Mithun on the small screen.
Matching his dance moves will also be the gorgeous Anita Bhabhi who is set to leave the audience flown with her style and grace to the tunes of the cult track Jimmy Jimmy.
Sharing his experience of essaying the actor on-screen, Aasif shared, "Dancing to Mithun’s tracks for Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai was literally like a fan-boy moment for me. I have grown watching and impersonating the legend’s moves and not once imagined that one I would get to relive Mithun Da being an actor myself. It was a surreal moment for me, and I knew I had to get every movement and every style of his right! While his style might seem easy to flaunt, recreating Mithun Da is an altogether different challenge which I hoped to have aced!”
Saumya Tandon said, “Having known and worked with Mithun Da earlier, it was super fun to do it. The sequence in the show is like a tribute to the disco era of the 80s. There was a very different vibe on the set and each one of us let loose to tracks we have grown up listening to. The scenes were over the top and melodramatic in many ways and so it had a different flavor. A lot of my dance moves are in a way a tribute to the era and especially Mithun Da and his style. To match his iconic Jimmy Jimmy track I decided to give my appearance like a disco dancer myself. Right from a shimmery jumpsuit to blingy shoes and a glossy lip shade, my entire look is inspired by the 80’s disco trend. I hope the viewers enjoy the upcoming episodes as much we enjoyed shooting them.”
The story will take the viewers back to Vibhuti’s past wherein several years ago, he was a part of a famous dance group but failed to pursue his dream of becoming a dancer. Years later Vibhuti happens to meet his dance guru popularly known as Jhumroo Ustaad who asks him to rejoin his crew much to Anita’s dismay. What unfolds are a series of mishaps that once again lead to Vibhuti letting go of his one and only dream. Will Vibhuti eventually make it as the Disco Dancer?
