'Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai': Shilpa Shinde reveals why she left, 'people wanted to exert control on our show'

Shilpa Shinde has been grabbing headlines and eyeballs with her return as Angoori Bhabhi for ‘Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai 2.0.’ After she left the serial, Shubhangi Atre took over as the iconic character. As the renowned show returns, Shinde opened up about the bad blood that caused her to leave the show a couple of years ago.

Shilpa Shinde reveals authorities wanted to control her

Shinde expressed that her character had been so successful that the channel and the authorities tried to exert control over her lifestyle. “At that time, every show except ours had flopped. So, these people wanted to exert control on our show. They tried to gain publicity for the channel through me,” she said in an interview with Mid-Day, before adding, “They sent me to a TV award ceremony in my character’s outfit! Whether from the channel or other authorities, the bottom line was to control me.”




Recalling the misunderstandings, Shinde explained that she was sidelined even after dedicating a year of her life. Taking the experience as a lesson, the actress stated that she did not have any grudge against her co-stars, but no one knew the reality behind the drama. “There were people claiming that I had left Bhabiji… for another show. No one knew the reality,” she added.

Shilpa Shinde recently shared a couple of words for Shubhangi Atre’s take over the role as well. Highlighting that she had appreciated the actress previously during her controversial exit, she said that Atre did a good job. “Achhi actress hai, but comedy sabke bas ki baat nahi hai. Aur uske baad kisiko copy karna, wo bohot mushkil hai, bohot pressure hota hai (The actress is good, but comedy is not everyone’s forte. Mimicking someone is difficult, as there is a pressure),” she said during a conversation with Telly Chakkar.
