Ashish Raghav on Tod Kar Dil Mera Season 1: I spent a lot of time understanding my character's silences, his sense of responsibility, and the emotional conditioning
Ashish Raghav is all set to make his debut in the upcoming limited series Tod Kar Dil Mera Season 1. In the show he will be seen essaying the layered character of Raj. The show, which has already generated curiosity with its intense storyline, premiered on19th January at 7 PM.
Speaking about his first association with the channel, Ashish shared that the project holds deep personal value for him. “This project feels extremely special and meaningful to me. The fact that Tod Kar Dil Mera is a limited series makes it even more exciting—the storytelling is tight, focused, and emotionally rich. At this stage of my career, I am looking for roles that challenge me as an actor and allow me to explore depth rather than just screen time, and this show offers exactly that. It truly feels like the right project at the right time,” he said.
Opening up about his character, Ashish described Raj as emotionally complex yet deeply expressive in love. “Raj is a very layered character, and that complexity is what drew me to him. I spent a lot of time understanding his silences, his sense of responsibility, and the emotional conditioning that comes with an arranged marriage setup. Along with carrying his responsibilities, Raj is very expressive when it comes to his love for Raushni, and you can clearly feel how her presence changes his life,” he added.
The actor also spoke about shooting in Lucknow and how the city influenced his performance. “The city’s tehzeeb, warmth, and emotional depth naturally become a part of you. Being in real locations helped me connect more organically with Raj’s journey,” he shared.
