Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi Praise Samay Raina’s Still Alive, Call Him a “Rockstar”
Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi, who are known for having an amazing sense of humour and share a close bond with stand-up comedian Samay Raina, recently shared their opinion on his new video Still Alive. The entire Sethi family—Aaryamann Sethi, his mother Archana Puran Singh, father Parmeet Sethi, and partner Yogita Bihani—sat together to watch the video and praised the show.
After watching the nearly 90-minute show, Archana complimented the comedian, saying, "Oh my God, unbelievable. Samay Raina is unbelievable. Superb. This man is a rockstar." Husband Parmeet also applauded the comedian, saying, "Probably the best stand-up I have watched in my life."
Archana added, "You cannot get better entertainment than this. For one and a half hours, this guy has held you to your seat. He made you cry, he made you laugh out loud. Cheer, applause, this is the hallmark of an ace comedian, of superb talent." Parmeet shared similar views, saying the show had no boring moments, which makes Samay’s performance stand out. Parmeet further called Samay ‘Dhurandhar’, while Archana termed his performance “out of this world."
Archana's son also shared his opinion on the show and said, "A lot of the things he said in the set were things he had told me when I spoke to him during his home tour. So I knew much of what he was going to say, but the way he has said it, and I had asked him myself, how did you deal with all this? Something like this doesn’t happen to 99.9% of people, so how he dealt with it, how he has come out of it, and the honesty he has shown, that is what truly touched me."
During his show, Still Alive, Samay recalled the difficult phase he went through last year and the India's Got Latent controversy. Samay recalled editing the video and revealed why he didn’t cut the joke. He said, “Main tumhe maa ki kasam sach batata hoon. Uss episode mein BeerBiceps ne woh sawal 8 baar poocha tha. Aur iske alawa bhi kayi random sawaal poochhe the usne. Toh jab maine edit dekha, maine kaha, ‘Yeh toh bohot gandi baatein kari hain isne’ (I swear on my mother, I am telling you the truth. In that episode, BeerBiceps asked that question eight times and many other random questions. When I saw the edit, I felt he said some very inappropriate things).”
