A lie killed my love story: Vindu Dara Singh

The age of 16 is the first time you enter college and there so many things you want to do as you have suddenly got the freedom - especially going out with girls.
There is a very funny memory as there was this girl in my college who was the most amazing looking and beautiful, and all the boys longed for her to smile at them once at least, but she never would.
We were at a social party and I saw her giving me the look so I asked her for a dance and acted like a love struck bunny. After a couple of dances and few sweet words, we parted ways to go home and we said bye and would meet again in college after the weekend. After the weekend her brother comes up to me to takes me aside and tells me in a very stern voice please stay away from my sister. I was shocked but acted macho and after that I didn’t even think of looking at her, only to find out after months that a guy went and told him that I was showing off that I had pataoed her etc.
So, basically a lie killed a love story that could have been. But then those were young days and we all feel we have had the worst heart breaks and we all laugh at it few years down the line.
So, this is one memory though that always stays in mind and my friends and I usually talk about college and this instance always comes up - everyone thinks I am Dara Singh’s son, how could I have got scared of that girl’s brother?
