What’s next for reality show ‘Survivor’ after Season 50?
Even host Jeff Probst admits uncertainty about 'Survivor' beyond its 50th season, though he has some preliminary thoughts. While fans eagerly await news, Probst is focused on delivering a memorable 50th installment. He believes the show possesses significant staying power, a sentiment echoed by past contestants who see him as integral to its success.
Even showrunner Jeff Probst doesn’t know what comes after season 50 of groundbreaking reality TV show ‘Survivor.’ Even though the 50th season is yet to air, fans are curious regarding what comes after its half century, and need their answers. ‘Survivor’ host Jeff Probst recently admitted to having “some loose ideas in a folder somewhere,” but he too has “no idea” about what’s next.

Even Jeff Probst doesn’t know what’s next for ‘Survivor’

Back in June, when the shooting for ‘Survivor Season 50’ was taking place in Fiji, host Jeff Probst admitted to PEOPLE, “I have no idea for 51.” He continued, “I just want to get through 50 with this incredible group of people… But yes, it will be breathing down our neck. That is the fun that comes with the job: the pressure.”

Jeff Probst has some loose ideas about ‘Survivor Season 50’

Probst also confesses to having "some loose ideas in a folder somewhere" about season 51 and beyond, but he's open to seeing how things take place. "I will say, I don’t think you have to wholesale change the show. I don’t see that happening," he says. "We’re early into a new era. We’re only nine, 10 seasons in. There’s still a lot of games to be played there."

Jeff Probst believes ‘Survivor’ has ‘staying power’

Although Probst has been hosting the show since its debut in 2000, he recognized the show’s potential of staying in power in 2010, when he became the showrunner and executive producer.
"I realize, 'Oh, this show could run until all humans die,'" he says.

‘Survivor Season 50’ contestants ‘can’t imagine’ the show without Jeff Probst

"That will be the end of Survivor when Jeff decides to hang it up," says five-time returnee Cirie Fields. "Not just because he's so nice to me. From a fan standpoint, Jeff knows what we're looking for…Jeff is the ultimate Survivor fan, in my opinion. And that's what makes him so good at what he does,” she added. Survivor 45 winner Dee Valladares adds that Jeff would give his life for Survivor. As ‘Survivor’ gears up to celebrate its milestone 50th season, the future beyond remains unwritten.
