TV serial on iconic actress Binodini to launch soon

A new television serial based on the life of legendary theatre actress, Binodini, is all set to hit the television screen soon. At a very young age, she stunned everyone with her first theatrical performance. She pursued her passion under the mentorship of its founder, Girish Chandra Ghosh. During that time, women were not allowed to take part in theatre and Binodini had to face stiff criticism. Shri Ramakrishna was moved to see her performance on the stage.
Interestingly, several theatrical projects and jatra have been made on the life of the legendary actress Binodini. In fact, popular film director Dinen Gupta made the film ‘Nati Binodini’ starring Deboshree Roy and Prosenjit Chatterjee.
The television serial will be launched on March 11. It will be directed by John Halder and stars a number of popular actors like Swagata Sen, Oishani Dey, Monoj Saha, Rita Dutta Chakraborty. Ananya Sengupta, Sarbari Mukherjee, Kushal Chakraborty, Enakshi Kha and Kasturi Chakraborty among others. The screenplay of the serial ‘Nati Binodini’ is provided by Rakesh Ghosh. Debjit Roy has scored music for this drama in which music has a pivotal role.
