While the animation studio and production staff have not yet been announced, we do know the anime will air on NHK General in Japan and stream on Crunchyroll, just like the previous two seasons. The story follows Fushi, a mysterious being who can take on different forms, including those of humans and animals. His journey explores deep themes like loss, growth, and the meaning of existence.
The manga won the Kodansha Manga Award for Best Shonen in 2019 and was also featured on the American Library Association’s list of Great Graphic Novels for Teens.
The anime’s first season aired in April 2021, produced by Brain’s Base and directed by Masahiko Murata. The second season was handled by Studio Drive, with Kiyoko Sayama as the director. Fushi was voiced by Reiji Kawashima in both seasons.
