Neel Bhattacharya-Tiyasha Roy starrer ‘Krishnakoli’ completes 900 episodes
Bengali daily soap ‘Krishnakoli’, which managed to woo the audience with its simple storyline, has completed 900 episodes recently. The team is in a celebratory mood as they crossed yet another milestone. Interestingly, it’s a double celebration for the entire cast and crew of ‘Krishnakoli’ as the show has scored well on the TRP charts as well.
The show was launched in 2018 and emerged as one of the most successful projects launched that year. The story of village belle Shyama who is a talented Keertaniya but has to face abuse due to her dark complexion managed to strike a chord with the audience soon after its launch.
According to the storyline, Shyama gets married to a handsome guy named Nikhil who belongs to a rich and influential family. She faces stiff criticism from her mom-in-law Sujata who always wanted a beautiful bahu for Nikhil. Initially, Nikhil doesn’t accept her as wife but Shyama’s innocence and honestly changes his heart. Throughout her journey, Shyama finds her father-in-law Basanta Chowdhury next to her. He encourages her to pursue her dream and become a famous singer. Nikhil too supports Shyama and stands by her during thick and thin. Sujata too realises Shyama’s worth.
Debutante Tiyasha Roy became an overnight sensation by playing the titular role in the show. Actor Neel Bhattacharya is playing the male lead. Tiyasha-Neel’s reel chemistry entertained the audience to the fullest. No wonder the show dominated the top spot on the TRP charts for a very long period. The show also stars Shankar Chakraborty, Nibedita Mukherjee, Sanjib Sarkar, Mou Bhattacharya, Vivaan Ghosh, Rimjhim Mitra, Soume Chatterjee, Ananya Guha and many others. ‘Krishnakoli’ has been remade in Telugu as ‘Krishna Tulasi’.
