“I am missing Mithun Da; we share a very emotional bond,” says ‘Dance Dance Junior Season 3’ judge-actor Dev

Reality show ‘Dance Dance Junior’ is all set to launch its new season. While the show is going to be a star-studded affair by welcoming none other than superstar Dev, actress Rukmini Maitra and dancing diva Monami as the esteemed judges, the upcoming edition will also have celebrity captains. But everyone’s most favourite Mahaguru Mithun Chakraborty will be absent from the show.According to the sources, the veteran actor was likely to be a part of the show however, things didn’t turn out. His absence from Dance Dance Junior Season 3’s promo, fuelled many rumours. Interestingly, the national award-winning actor was in the city for quite some time. He shot for Dev’s upcoming movie as well. When asked about the same, Dev says, “Not having Mithun Da in the show is certainly a miss. I share a very beautiful and emotional bond with him. When the channel contacted me regarding the show and narrated the new concept, I quickly contacted Mithun Da. In fact, I met him the very next day for our upcoming project and we had a chat about the show too. He was very happy about me and encouraged a lot. Our relationship isn’t all about Dance Dance Junior. Our relationship is way more than that. Perhaps, I won’t be able to explain it.”The actor-politician, who enjoys a massive fan following, confessed that he majorly misses beloved Mithun Da during the shoot. “If you ask me, I miss Mithun Da,” he adds.The upcoming edition will introduce Dev’s lady love and Rukmini Maitra as a celebrity judge. This will be her first TV outing besides occasional appearances on small screen for her movie promotions. “Since Mithun Da won’t be a part of the show, the channel did a lot of permutation and combination. We all had a discussion about the contestants, panel of judges and few other things. The channel came up with Rukmini’s name. She has carved her niche in Mumbai besides working in Tollywood. I told the channel that if you can convince her, I have no problem. Personally, I feel, she is one of the most eligible and deserving person to be in the panel. There is no reason to think that she is a part of Dance Dance Junior Season 3 because of my relationship with her,” Dev explained.The last two seasons had Mahaguru as the super judge. Soham Chakraborty and Srabanti Chatterjee graced the first season as the judges. Last season welcomed Dev and Monami in the panel as the celebrity judge. The soon-to-be-launched edition will have Dipanwita Rakshit, Trina Saha and Abhishek Bose as the celebrity captains.
