From senior artist Nimai Ghosh felicitated for his contribution to honouring late Aindrila Sharma with Posthumous Award; Highlight of Tele Academy Awards 2023

It was an eventful and prestigious moment for all the artists who work in front and behind the camera to entertain the audience. Hosted by Govt. of West Bengal, Tele Academy Awards, celebrates the contributions by the actors, directors, technicians, screenplay writers and all those who are an essential part of the industry. This year, under 41 categories 66 noted artists were honoured. It was a colourful and memorable moment for not only who were felicitated but also those, whose constant effort to entertain the audience were recognized by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, whose love for TV shows is not a secret. The list of award recipients is quite long and includes veteran artists Mithu Chakraborty-Anindya Sarkar, Sumanta Mukhopadhyay, along with Dibyojyoti Dutta, Swastika Ghosh, Rano Joy Bishnu, Ankita Mullick, June Maliah, and many others. One of the senior most artists of Tollywood, was honoured with ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for his contribution as an actor.

Aindrila, who passed away last year in November, was honoured with Posthumous Award. Her parents received the award from Chief Minister Mamata. CM Mamata highly spoke about both TV show 'Sadhak Ramprasad' and actor Sabyasachi Chowdhury who plays the titular role in the show, at the event. Gaatchora, which used to top Bengali TV's TRP charts, has also bagged several awards at the prestigious event. Right from Gourab Chatterjee winning an award for Best Actor (under the category of best son), June Malia being best mom-in-law in a TV show to Anindya winning an award for Best actor in a negative role, the show took away many awards. Not just Dibyojyoti-Swastika, Ankita-Shyamoupti, but some of the young artists were also recognized by Mamata Banerjee. She highly praised Sona (Mishita Roy Chowdhury) and Rupa (Srishti Majumdar) from ‘Anurager Chhowa’ and child artist and host Laddu for their performances.
