Exclusive: Actress Pallavi Dey’s demise: Sayak Chakraborty, Anamitra Batabyal and friends close to the actress express shock

Bengali actress Pallavi Dey was reportedly found hanging from the ceiling at the flat in Kolkata where she used to stay with her live-in partner. Police officials are investigating the matter and also questioning her live-in partner. The news of Pallavi’s sudden demise has sent shock waves and her co-stars, friends, and colleagues from the industry are deeply saddened by the news. Sayak and Pallavi were very good friends. Their friendship became strong during the shoot of ‘Ami Sirajer Begum’. He broke down in tears and said, “I went to the hospital and looking at her face, I thought how can she take such a drastic step (sobs)? Only a few days back, she went with me to shoot for a vlog and we explored different places. She was so happy. I have so many good memories of her. I firmly believe she can’t take such a drastic step,” says Sayak.

Model and actor Anamitra is also a part of TV show ‘Mon Mane Na’, where Pallavi used to play the female lead. “I still can’t believe it. We shot for the show two days back and later had a brief chat too,” says Anamitra who is deeply saddened by the shocking incident.

Abhishek made his debut with ‘Saraswatir Prem’ where Pallavi played the female lead. Abhishek remembers her as a girl who is full of life. “She was full of life and isn’t someone who would break down easily. Today, when I got the news, I was in disbelief. She had shared Instagram stories yesterday and even reacted to my social media posts yesterday. What went wrong within a few hours?” questions Abhishek.

Nabanita is still in trauma after learning about the news. “I can’t believe Pallavi is no more. Initially, I thought, she was taken to M.R Bangur for some medical emergency, and never in my wildest dream thought, the incident would turn out like this. How can this be true? She was such a jolly and confident girl. I can’t accept this,” she inconsolably cried while speaking.

Actor Gourab knew Pallavi through her work. He says, “Today, when I got the news, I was in complete disbelief. I called up one of my friends with the hope that it was the wrong news. But unfortunately, it was true! I never worked with her and knew Pallavi through her work. The demise of such a young and talented person is a loss.”
