Each tattoo tells a story and it’s no more unusual to have one. In fact with the growing craze of getting inked many television celebs, who are supposed to look a certain way to match their on-screen character, too are coming forward to express themselves through their tattoos.

After stealing millions of hearts in Bigg Boss 9, Kishwer Merchant is basking in the glory. The actress recently got another tattoo on her hand saying 'Gratitude'. Earlier, Kishwer got inked with her boyfriend Suyyash Rai. She got 'One Life' on her wrist.

TV's hottie Vishal got inked yet again! The fashionable actor, recently posted a picture of his tattoo on Instagram and it's absolutely hot. Vishal got a big mandala design on his leg and was thrilled to get it done. He posted the picture saying "And it's done! thank you sooo much @bodycanvastattooart love love love love love it."

Rachana Parulkar gets inked

Rachana Parulkar of 'Maharana Pratap' is the latest TV celeb to get inked. The beautiful actress got an anklet done with her name's initials 'RP' and a crown. Talking about the tattoo, Rachana shared, "Its my name and I have always been treated like a princess so a crown is attached too."

Akhlaque Khan: A tattoo for every break-up

Actor Akhlaque Khan. has a strange penchant for getting a tattoo done every time his relationships go kaput (the last one being with actress Roopal Tyagi). But before you get any wacky ideas, let us tell you that those aren’t his ex’s initials.

The idea behind getting inked is to endure pain caused by heartbreak. Akhlaque says, “I avoid getting my former girlfriends’ initials inked. A break-up can be so disturbing that you don’t mind a permanent tattoo on your body. It is also a good way to remember the pain and mistakes you made. They are proof of the fact that I am getting better in life with every mistake. The one on my back, which was done in 2010, is the alphabet ‘A’ that has significance in my life. The second one on my wrist, which was done in 2013, is a Chinese word ‘wang’ which means ruler of the earth, people and heaven. Now, I am planning to get a ‘carpe diem’ tattoo for my last relationship.”

Given the fact that they are permanent remnants of a relationship-gone-wrong on his body, does he intend to go easy when it comes to matters of heart? “I have been in many relationships, the longest one lasted three years and the shortest, for three days. Since I have a habit of getting inked after every split, I intend to go easy on relationships now. But the heart is an involuntary muscle,” he says, laughing.

Amit Tandon’s tattoo tale: Actor Amit Tandon is a big tattoo fan and boasts six inks in total. He says, “I got one of the six tattoos redone. I actually wanted to cover a previous design, that of a Trishul and Shiv, as I was not happy with the way it was done. Now, I’ve changed it to the symbol of a Sikh Nihang warrior and a hawk set to attack the enemy. I have my grandparents’ portraits on my left forearm, a tribal lion on my right and a tribal Aum design on my upper right shoulder.” Ask Amit if these inks have proven to be a problem while shooting for his shows, and he replies, “Today, tattoos have become very common. So, I don’t think they should be a hindrance in any way. They can also be covered with makeup.”Interestingly, the actor has already decided on his next design. He says, “My cousins and I are planning on getting our family’s name tattooed during our next vacation in July. It will be an interesting symbol with a design of the alphabet T.”

Shilpa Shetty gets her first tattoo

Actress and former reality show judge Shilpa Shetty recently got herself inked. Shilpa got the sacred symbol, swastika, inked on her left wrist. Sharing her picture on social media, while the tattoo was being made, Shilpa wrote, "Getting my First Tatoo a Swastika".

'Love birds' Suyyash and Kishwer get inked: Getting tattooed is the new trend for television and Bollywood actors. The latest ones to join is none other the lovey dovey couple Suyyash Rai and Kishwer Merchantt. While Suyyash got tattoed ‘Maa’ on his chest to show his love towards his mother, on the other hand Kishwer got ‘One Life’ written on her wrist. The couple decided to get the tattoos done together!

Kavita Kaushik

TV’s Chandramukhik Chautala aka Kavita Kaushik is a free spirited woman and looks like Kavita is also a follower of Lord Shiva. In this picture the actress is seen flaunting her Shiva tattoo, which is on the nape of the neck.

Rohit Purohit aka 'Mirza Altunia' from historical show 'Razia Sultan' has girlfriend Sheena Bajaj's name tattooed in pink on his forearm. The duo met on the sets of TV show, 'Arjun'. Like a true lover boy Rohit has no qualms flaunting his lady love's name on his forearm.

Karan Singh Grover:

TV’s casanova, actor Karan Singh Grover has seven tattoos on his body. The tattoos on his right arm are dedicated to Bible, while the one on his left arm has a Chinese tattoo along with three other tattoos with different meanings. Grover’s first tattoo was that of a Dragon. Also a tattoo on his leg defines 'Super Star'. The actor got his latest tattoo made in 2014 which says, 'Anything but Ordinary.'

Karan Patel:

Actor Karan Patel was keen to get inked for several years, and finally got his wish fulfilled in Goa, where he was on a short break with his wife Ankita Bhargava. The actor has got the symbols of 'Allah', 'Om' , a cross and 'one love' written on the front and back of his forearms. Talking about it he said, "A tattoo stays with you for life. So I chose these symbols as I believe that humanity is above all religions... The 'one love' tattoo is her writing. She wrote it down and we traced it on my forearm. We also plan to get a six-pointed star inked soon, where the left half will be on her hand, the right half will be on mine. Once we hold hands together, it will become a six-pointed star.”

Avika Gor:

Actress Avika Gor is often seen playing the ideal daughter in-law on the small screen but looks like the actress is quite jovial in real life. Avika recently got inked with not one but three tattoos—on her wrist, on her ankle and one near the collar bone. The actress took to social media where she shared her pictures.

Asmita Sood:

The ‘Phir Bhi Na Maane... Badtameez Dil’ actress has a tattoo on her right hand which depicts her love for music. What’s more, luckily the actress doesn’t need to hide it for her character in the show as her tattoo has been incorporated into the show's track. Asmita said, "The tattoo on my right hand depicts my connection with music. Even though I don't sing, I love listening to music. Incidentally, I had got this tattoo a couple of months before signing this show. The tattoo will now be a part of the show's track."
