This incredibly fascinating museum is housed in the former morgue and coroner's court, so there's already an eerie feel to the place as soon as you walk in. Here, you can see thousands of exhibits pertaining to the city's murky past, including confiscated firearms, counterfeit money, a collection of former Vancouver Police vehicles and even real, preserved body parts in the autopsy lab. If blood and guts makes you queasy, give this one a miss.
Outside normal museum times, the museum offers regular hour-long, 'CSI'-style workshops on a range of subjects, from blood spatter and fingerprinting, to forensic pathology and ballistics. Big kids will love playing with the blue flashing sirens and police badges, and if you're visiting after a boozy lunch, give the breathalyser a whirl.
