The initiative has been started by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) in collaboration with Banaras Hindu University (BHU). Varanasi Airport director, Aryama Sanyal, said that Varanasi used to be the hub of the Sanskrit language from ancient days and it is one of the best ways of paying respect to the language.
Varanasi is also one of the ancient Indian cities brimming with tales from history. During ancient times, Sanskrit and Tamil were used as common languages. And a number of manuscripts were written in these two languages.
Varanasi is also home to a famous Sanskrit university called Sampurnanand Sanskrit University. People from across the globe come here to learn the language and understand its importance.
