UAE further extends ban on travellers from India until June 30

The United Arab Emirates has further extended the ban on travellers from India, now for the third time. Passenger flights from India have been suspended by the UAE until June 30, in view of the ongoing COVID-19 situation in the country.
Previously, the country had imposed the travel ban until June 14, but has decided to extend it. The ban was initially placed on April 25 after the coronavirus situation in India had reached a dangerous state.

A statement by the UAE authorities say, "Furthermore, passengers who have transited through India in the last 14 days will not be accepted to travel from any other point to the UAE."

It has also been added that those people with UAE nationals, members of diplomatic missions, and holders of UAE Golden Visas will be exempted from this rule. However, they ought to follow the latest COVID protocols as issued by the UAE government.

UAE is now permitting a select category of passengers to enter Dubai. Such passengers must have a negative PCR antigen test. As mentioned in s statement by the UAE government,“These include the members of diplomatic missions, holders of UAE golden visa, UAE nationals, passengers exempted and/or granted permission to enter the UAE by the appropriate authorities as well as passengers traveling on a business flight who have a valid COVID-19 PCR test certificate, according to the Emirates airlines' website.”

Not only India, but the ban also applies to those who have been to Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka in the 14 days before their travel to the UAE.
