The main focus of DIFF is to promote and bring to the world independent films not only from India but from across the globe. The film festival has garnered a great reputation in the world of cinema since its inception. Imagine watching creative cinema amid a beautiful mountain setting.
Even during the pandemic (2020), DIFF was the only major film festival in India that was organised online. This was one of the major successes of DIFF as its reach extended across South Asia. A number of new viewers’ participation was recorded during this time.

DIFF, which in its 11th edition now, attracts cinema-literates, indie filmmakers and movie critics from all over the world.
About Dharamsala
Dharamshala is a pretty hill station in Himachal Pradesh, noted for its natural scenic beauty. The place is all about cedar forests, the mighty Himalayas, ancient monasteries and most importantly, the Dalai Lama’s home (in-exile).
